Maybe Miguel’s the one feeling guilty too. He pushes any chance to feel loved away after ruining an entire world and then, on top of that, he loses Peter Parker, which is not his fault but if anything it revives the previous trauma, and now the man blames himself for fucking everything. That kind of guilt results in a whole lotta self sabotage and a constant fear of losing. He does want Peter B. and he does want to feel loved back but he cannot allow himself enjoy it because he ultimately believes he doesn’t deserve it and the possibility of losing it all again is unbearable. And the only way he knows to approach the things/people he cherishes is by also doing some sort of penance in the process: “I enjoy Peter B intimacy but I won’t let him reciprocate because I don’t deserve that much and I must serve my sentence no matter what” Again, it’s just the vibes I get from all of this but I could be completely wrong 😂
