He is a legend that has been rooted in this area for over 1000 years, and although it has become a mere formality, the legend is passed down as part of the culture of the surrounding residents.
Some people are blinded by his power to grant wishes and try to make him their own. However, he becomes weak if he stays on the ground for more than seven days, so they must protect his safety until a certain day.
Absol and Flygon have been guarding Jirachi, who descends during Tanabata, for generations, and have been responsible for safely sending him back to the night sky after seven days. The people around them think of Jirachi as a god from a fairy tale, but there are many outsiders who try to find out the truth for various reasons.
Normally, it would be great if they could spend their days peacefully without incident, but babysitting Jirachi, who has an eternal childlike mind and curiosity, is very difficult. Absol and Flygon must always support him to keep him safe, as he has no sense of self-protection.
The first time male Absol, and female Flygon, met was the day they were first tasked with guarding Jirachi. They followed the customs taught to them by their ancestors, and sometimes supported each other as they fulfilled their roles. After working together for years, the two were naturally attracted to each other. They fulfilled the same roles, got to know each other as partners, supported each other, and trusted each other. They themselves thought that it was inevitable that they would be attracted to each other.
However, since their flocks usually live in completely different places, they could not meet except when Jirachi came down from the night sky. Therefore, they only meet again with Jirachi for seven days a year. This Pokemon that grants wishes was strangely like their Cupid.
Three days have passed since Jirachi came down from the night sky. This innocent, childlike Pokemon ran around as he pleased this year, making them go crazy. However, they did not restrict Jirachi's seven days of ground sightseeing, but let him be free. They just had to watch him and his surroundings carefully so that he would not get into any danger. That was their role.
The third day's night sky was still filled with beautiful stars. Jirachi, who had been playing around without rest for three days, was tired, and now he was sleeping soundly as if his batteries had run out.
