First poll: technical aspects.
🕑 Added 2017-07-29 01:55:40 +0000 UTC I'm still creating the stories for the next game, however I decided to get this out of the way to hit the iron while it's hot. ILD had a resolution of 816x653 pixels. The reason for this was because I started the game in RPGmaker, which has a very limited resolution in itself. Renpy doesn't have such limits, so I can increase the resolution of the new game as big as needed/desired. Keep in mind that the increase in resolution also means an increase in time rendering, however the result is noticeable (As you can see in these examples).This is the normal resolution I used on the last game:

The bigger the picture, the clearer it becomes, and the more noticeable things in it are (including the mistakes).

I'll let you guys decide which resolution should I use. There's also the possibility of using renpy's native resolution of 1024x768 which would mean a little increase in quality with a minimal impact in rendering time.
Beyond this, there's also the other important matter of the view.
ILD was in third person view, but a camera from far away shows less details than putting it up close. So, this game could also be put in first person view as looking from one character's point of view the whole time. I haven't checked how this affects render time after the resolution change, but I can tell that the reduction in time mounting the scene will be noticeable (Since setting one character is way faster than setting two.) and in the scenes of ILD, the pov actually helped a bit for the rendering.
On the part about characters, I will make the next one from the point of view of a male. One of the things a lot of people disliked about ILD was how fast Bella progressed on her sexuality. This issue can be avoided with a male MC.
So here are the most important choices of this poll, resolution and view. As always, majority rule decides. Thanks for voting! I'll make another poll with the stories as soon as I'm done with them, which should be on Sunday at the latest. The only thing stopping me is the need to check what resources I have so that I don't have to stop the progress once it's started to find new stuff.

Sorry for taking so long to answer, I was making the new stories :D. I don't quite understand what do you mean though, is it because you hate all pov games or because no one would've wanted to look at the world through bella's eyes? English is my second language so I think I'm missing something here, my apologies.

I hope you realize that if you had done ILD in first person, you would have had about 6 viewers. [None of them me. :)]

I think 720p is enough, the resolution is the reason why I stopped playing, you should have gone for the Renpy directly without messing with RPGMaker. The style of your game fits Renpy better, making it on RPGMaker was a waste. Anyways good luck and take care. ;)
