Benjen Stark knew his own limits. The fact that Eddard became the Lord of Winterfell was already out of the ordinary, especially while Brandon was alive. Usually, death led to such outcomes. But he was happy that it wasn't death.
Yet, there was indeed death.

Brandon was crazy enough to do that. He knew that much. And the Night's Watch wasn't going anywhere. The least he could do was visit Wylis once, at least. He knew how close Lyanna was to him and… he suspected there was more to it. He believed it must have been devastating for Wylis.
"This… is Wylis' castle?"
"Lord Wylis."
When Brandon corrected him, he noticed a hint of pride in his elder brother's eyes. It seemed he truly cherished and looked up to Wylis.
Before long, they entered the castle. However, they weren't allowed beyond the outer courtyard. Lord Wylis's squire even clashed with Brandon to halt their entry. It confused him, as he didn't understand why such a level of security existed. Wylis was just a lesser lord. Hell, the massive moat and the walls around that moat exceed what many castles of great houses had.
Eventually, the squire left them there and went inside to get permission from Wylis. Moments later, the tall squire returned and cautiously guided them through the many halls.
"The hell's gotten into you, Chett?"
He stared ahead intently as Brandon asked that. He was just as curious.
"You don't know? One of the Kingsguards tried to rape Lady Ros. I was fortunate enough to kill the rotten bastard."

Brandon exclaimed. Benjen did the same but silently. He didn't know that, but now that he did, it made sense why any guest was seen with a suspicious gaze. If even a famed Kingsguard was up to no good, what else was left?
"Should've knocked Robert on his arse on the road. Heard the bastard crow he fought Wylis to a standstill," Brandon said. "I'll drill the lads to watch the castle. Not letting that happen again."

Benjen frowned, noticing how they spoke in riddles. Who was this 'she' inside? And seeing Brandon nod seriously, he reckoned it must be someone important.
Finally, after climbing the spiral staircases of the tower, they arrived at the top floor. Chett stood in front of the door first, like a guard. Then the squire knocked, peeked inside, and informed of their arrival.
Only after that did the squire open the door. He followed Brandon into it, his eyes glancing around to find this woman. But other than open windows, a broad table, and walls filled with book cabinets, there was nothing.

"Benjen, I’m wed to Wylis," Lyanna said. "I love him. I have loved him since before Robert was forced upon me. Wylis beat Ser Arthur, Ser Oswell, and Ser Gerold to pull me from the Tower of Joy. "And Ned?" Benjen asked.

Nothing Lyanna said made it easy to digest. There was nothing that could make him understand their 'situation.' Saying that Wylis wanted a brood wasn't an excuse. Yet somehow, even Brandon didn't give a damn about it, saying that Wylis loved Lyanna the most and would go to war for her, and that was enough.
How could that even be enough? This was insanity. Pure degeneracy.
"It is your choice to understand it or not. I leave the matter to you. The facts stand before you. Lyanna yet breathes, and she is dearer to me than life. But this I offer, Benjen Stark. You may remain here in Ramsgate, take a strong hand in my growing rule, the city, the army, and the fleet, and what follows.
“Or take the road north and don the Black. I won’t hold you, so long as you swear by your blood that you will speak of Lyanna and the others to no living soul." Lord Wylis's firm, serious voice was enough to keep him on his toes.
Somehow, Lord Wylis had grown into an even more imposing man. Before, it was only physically imposing, but now it was the air surrounding him that echoed strength and confidence.
"May I have some time to decide?" Benjen said, his eyes on Lyanna rather than Wylis. He wished to speak with her longer and learn what had happened. "I’ll give you my answer come morning."
At last, Lord Wylis rose from his seat, a big, friendly smile on his face that he was used to. He didn't flinch or move back when the tall lord came over and pulled him in a brotherly embrace. He was close with Wylis, closer than he was to Brandon or Eddard, thanks to Lyanna being the bridge that mended the gap.

“What say you, Chett?” Wylis said, lounging in the great chair and beckoning his squire to sit. “Robert will have told Ned already, I’d wager. I warned him a new war is brewing, and Robert loves prattle near as much as wine.”

He started from the northern part of the castle. Currently, there was nothing in the north but lush forests. Same for the western parts. But the western side was visible from the moat wall, and the northern side was better hidden due to heavy mist.
He planned to construct his city in three rings. His castle was the center, surrounded by the moat. The second ring was divided into two sections, one of which would be the northern part, which would house Ramsgate's own Godswood, or better called a private, massive garden with decorated pathways, flowerbeds, and a large grassy training field.
It would only be accessible from within the castle and be private grounds for Wylis and his family. The other section stretched from the western side to the south and all the way to the port. It was going to be the administrative district.
The final ring was also divided into two parts with walls. The northern side was to be entirely industrial, and the western and southern sides would house everything else.
That night, he planned to work on the second ring's wall. He didn't know if he could finish it, but he wanted to finish a major chunk of it, at least.
Using Earthbending, he guided himself through the mist and the thick forestation. It was also rather cold at night. But he was covered from head to toe in a dark cloak, and he wore a black mask with holes for eyes.
Seems right.
He had the plans in his head; all he needed to do was build the walls and the wall towers at the right place.

He removed his boots and felt a direct connection with the dirt under him. He took deep breaths and calmed his thoughts, removing any unneeded ideas from his head. He focused entirely on what he wanted to build.

What Wylis was building weren't just walls. They were curtain walls, meant to be high and strong. The ones Wylis had planned were a bit overboard, but with Earthbending, not making them didn't make sense.
The wall tower he raised was twenty meters high, providing storage and cover for battles. The wall he had planned would be fifteen meters high, a significant height. The walls would also be five meters wide, enough to move an entire carriage on them.
This would've bankrupted great houses if not for Earthbending.
Wylis believed such a structure couldn't be built in Westeros in the current age. Only in Essos was it possible, even with the help of countless slaves.

It wasn't perfect. He raised the first wall tower and then razed it as well. He then raised it again with modifications. He kept doing it until he got the hang of it and understood exactly how to build it, where to put more focus.
Unlike simple earthbending, this took a lot of focus. That was the tiring part, not the use of the ability itself.

This time, he took great care; he raised the entire twenty-meter-tall tower. From the battlements to the roofs, rooms inside the tower, the staircase, the entries, and the exit. Everything was built to perfection.

So, he went faster and completed the entire northern part, and then the western part, going south. He also erected a grand gateway into the second ring from the outside. It was a large triumphal arch-like structure with three arched gateways, the middle one was the tallest, widest, for horses and carriages, the smaller ones on the left and right were for pedestrians.
From there, he worked on the southern section of the wall. It had stopped feeling difficult to him as the initial need for creativity and focus had vanished, and a boring rinse-and-repeat thought had formed. The shape and structure of each wall and tower was imprinted in his head. The only segment that took inspiration was the gateway.
Soon enough, he reached the eastern shore of Ramsgate. The townfolks were living further south, where the third wall was going to stand. They were also working on the port there. But where Wylis stood, it was going to be a private port for the administrative district. The trick was doing it silently.
"Fuck it!"
In the end, he decided to finish the whole damn thing. He built four towers and created gateways between them, one entry and one exit, in and out of the docks. He sealed the entire administrative district after that by placing the last wall and joining it with the moat's wall.
Going a step further, he fortified the shores with stones and created stone stairways, so reaching the docks became easier. The rest of the dock expansion was for people to do.
At last, done with all of it, the entire second ring finished in a single night, he took a deep breath and looked behind at the vast empty area that would be the administrative district. Of course, he saw nothing because the mist covered it.
"I've done it now."
It couldn't be helped what he felt in his heart. There was excitement but also anxiety. How would the people react to an entire damn wall with dozens of towers appearing out of nowhere in a single night? And it was massive on top of that.
“Should make a few tales and let them spread among the folk. Better I sow the seed than another man,” he muttered and at last turned for home. Dawn was taking color in the east. “If I can manage this, why not mend all of Harrenhal? It can't be that hard.”
On his way back, he thought of the location of that castle. It sat in the perfect location, close to Riverrun, the Westerlands, and King's Landing. It was the place where many armies gathered in their campaigns. It was also the only castle in that location that could house an entire army. Even in its ruins, it was useful.

Hey plot gerion lannister is going on his trip to old valyria between now and the ironborn rebellion you could have wylis make his first trip to the far east coincide with gerion habe them set out 2 years or a year and a half before the rebellion and wylis suggests they stick together up to a certain point then wylis keeps going to yi-ti amd leng like corlys valaryon did and on the way back wylis says he gets a bad feeling and decides to take his personal flagship and a few others to follow gerions prepared route and he saves gerion and uses his treasure hunting abilities to find several treasure vaults left behind as well as securing brightroar and king loren lannisters bones to return to house lannister then wylis sails to volantis where the rest of his fleet is waiting.

Tftc dont forget plot wylis now needs to make the seawall with wavebreakers in front if it to seal off the harbor fully i would make it either a half circle ,a half octagon or a half square with two entrances in the center one entry, one exit then in the space between them build a man made island with a full fort sitting on it with two more one on either side of the entrances with the one in the middle having a light house built atop it. Then have chains and sea gates to seal the gateways off and you could also build a set of metal or stone tracks into the fortress walls vertically then build a steel and wood bridge between each of the forts so 2 in total this way the whole bridge can be lowered and raised therefore when its at the top you can walk between the forts and if needed they can be lowered to lets say 8ft above the water to block ships. You could also make some wrecking ball cranes with metal or stone egg shaped wrecking balls that you can drop on a any ship trying to break through the gates if the enemy somehow gets through.

Plot make sure that when wylis sets up his paper industry he makes 2 kinds of paper the first is white paper or as close as he can get it made from trees and the second hemp paper which would be a light brown color it would be the cheaper of the two and hemp can be grown and harvested much faster than trees . The white paper is for important documents and books while the brown hemp paper for everything else. He should also look into making paper clips ,paper clamps ,clip boards and other such things and the early ink pens that could be refilled.
