Dudley rubbed his face tiredly. If it weren't for the conditions Daphne proposed, he'd have never agreed to her. But he really wanted to get access to her father, and she was the only key. The man was far too careful, almost to the degree of paranoia.

Right then, the music started, and the gates opened. The four champions walked in, hand in hand with their female and male partners. The moment acted as his savior, and the official ball started.
Why is she staring at me? Dudley noticed the way Fleur was dancing elegantly, yet every chance she got, she glanced at him.
Meanwhile, Harry was awkward with Parvati. Hermione was enjoying it with Viktor, and Cedric was just… being Cedric. Shining bright with Cho.
Midway, Dumbledore went in with McGonagall, followed by the other Headmasters. Slowly, the students started to join the floor. Soon enough, the dance floor was covered.
"Let's go." Dudley grabbed Daphne's hand and pulled her along. He took her to the middle of the floor and then faced her, his gaze like a predator's, locked with her eyes. "We didn't practice together, but I guess you can improvise."
He didn't ask, and placed one hand on her soft waist and kept the other clasped, raised high on the side. She responded quickly, holding his shoulder and readying herself to dance.
"You asked for this." Dudley cheekily replied and put a little more of his arm around her waist, bringing her body closer but still at a respectable distance. "What's that? Am I seen the Daphne Greengrass blushing?"
"Shut up." Daphne barked and started moving.
Dudley did the same and danced. He never looked elsewhere, just at her face. Truly, she was worthy of being Slytherin's ice queen. As cringe-worthy as it sounded, she'd developed a pretty famous personality.
But as he saw her, felt her so close, her faint blush and her fast beating heart, he knew it was a carefully curated personality. It was very smart of her, even. Being cold to everyone meant the likes of Malfoy of the Dark side and the likes of Harry of the light side all stayed away from her.
He, perhaps, was able to get close because he was somewhat similar to her. Somewhere in the middle of it all, yet closer to muggles. She was in the middle, yet closer to purebloods.
"Jump."
He grabbed her waist, gave a nice squeeze, and easily lifted her, just as he had practiced with Susan and Hannah.
"Follow me." He whispered and started leading her towards a certain spoiled brat on the dance floor. Dancing the whole time, of course.
Daphne noticed Malfoy and sneered.
"Watch this," Dudley whispered, and right then.

Dudley's strong right foot, or rather the heel of his shoe, slammed straight into Draco's toe. It was deliberate and strong, it had to hurt.
"Ah, sorry, buddy." Dudley apologized.
Draco was glaring already, his focus gone from his partner, Pansy. "You!"

Dudley, unashamedly, attacked the other toe. This time harder, making Draco jump back in pain.
"Watch where you're going, Malfoy." Dudley sneered at him and kept dancing with Daphne, who was barely holding her chuckle.
Not going too far, Dudley moved away from Draco and finished a single set of the dance routine with Daphne, as per the deal he'd made.
"Thanks." Daphne softly said and left him on the floor. She didn't even eat anything and just left the ballroom.

“Monsieur Dursley… would you care for a dance?”

Avoiding most gazes, he went to a distant wall in the hall. There, he leaned against a locked door. To most eyes, he just ate, and he actually did. But it was also an excuse to wait there.
Knock! Knock!...
A series of knocks came from behind the door. Dudley responded by knocking his head back on the door in calculated knocks.
"It's pretty tasty," he muttered.
Right then, a faint voice came from behind the door. A feminine voice to be exact.
"The attempts at opening a bank branch in New York have failed. The MACUSA has retracted its support. The old American families are likely behind it. The excavation for the vaults is half done. The number in Burma now stands at ninety."
Dudley digested those words before responding.
"I'll handle MACUSA later. Increase the Burma recruitment. I need five hundred at the very least." Dudley ordered, masking his words with bites and chewing. "Did you bring it?"
"It's hidden where you asked for it."
"Good. I'll see you during the Easter holiday." He tapped his head a few times again and left.
Done eating, he grabbed Susan and Hannah and took them to the dance floor. With them, he held nothing back. Touching them, holding them close, lifting them up, or even giving casual, warm hugs during the dance. He didn't mask his closeness with them since it was already known.
First Hannah and then Susan, he finished the formal dance with them. After that, a more casual dance music was played. On the edge of rock and pop, everyone stopped holding back and simply had fun.
From the corner of his eye, he saw Harry finally getting a chance to dance with Cho. Ron, sadly, was still a sulking mess by the table. He didn't bother to console him anymore and focused on his girls.

"I guess the next 5th year's boys' prefect is decided then," Dudley told himself. "Let's enjoy this to the fullest then."
He quickly discarded all his clothes, getting butt naked before finally stepping into the water. The pool was deep enough, as the water easily reached his waist. Considering how taller he was than most of his peers, it really was deep.

Eventually, he sat down in the massive tub, the water reaching his shoulders. He leaned back against the edge and reclined his head further back on the floor, arms spread wide. He closed his eyes to relax his mind, almost falling asleep.
"What are you doing, Monsieur Dursley?"
"Hmm?" Dudley's eyes split open, awake from the faint slumber. He didn't move, keeping his head reclined back so his eyes stared at the ceiling.
Only in this case, he didn't see a ceiling as there stood Fleur Delacour, the quarter Veela who had all of Hogwarts and Durmstrang boys blue balled.
