Star of the Weasley Family 25 - Legend of the Weasley Family [THE END Part 1]

That was the only sensation Ron felt as he dove into the Veil. He saw his surroundings change into darkness instantly, nothing felt real anymore. Still alive or not? He had no idea.
But there was peace and calm for he had done what he wanted to. Voldemort's real body, the only one left, was in that dark purgatory. He hoped his consciousness would fade away in time, same for the Dark Lord's.
Ugh, I promised to go see Fleur again tonight.
There were regrets for sure. It felt shameful that finally when he was ready to take responsibility for his actions, his time was over. He finally looked forward to marrying Fleur and having a family with her. Caring for his boy with Amelia too.
But it was all gone now.
In time, he lost his grip. Now, it was all him, floating in that darkness alone. He waited for death to come, and he waited desperately.
What's going on?
It didn’t arrive. He hoped for it to be quick, but he still felt completely conscious and in control of his thoughts. It was still dark all around him.
Where the hell am I?
"Hello!"
I can hear my voice!
"Hello? Anybody? Voldemort?"
Ron feared that Voldemort was still alive. If that was the case, he needed to kill the Dark Wizard for good.
"Here!"
Ron heard a voice just then. But it didn't belong to Voldemort as far as he knew. However, he still followed that voice, or at least tried to. He had no control over himself, suspended in the dark void. But if he willed himself to move, he felt he could float in that direction.
"Come here!"
Ron followed that voice with devotion.
Closer and closer before finally noticing a white dot in the distance. It grew like the light at the end of a tunnel and before he knew it, he passed right through it.
Thud!
Hard floor?!
He fell on something, face first and flat. Everything was white—so white that his eyes clenched shut instinctively. He tried to open them quickly but the whiteness around was overwhelming.
"Easy there. Takes some time."
"Hm?" Ron raised his bruised face and looked. The vision returned to normal but it remained blurry. However, he saw a massive crowd in front of him, at least thirty or fifty people. But they were all similarly shaped.
In a few seconds, the vision cleared up. But Ron rubbed his eyes many times.
"S-Sirius? One, two… F-Fourty-five Sirius? Bloody hell!"
It was exactly what he saw. Almost fifty Sirius Black, all in different clothes but their faces were the same.
"W-What's going on? Where is this place? Who are you?"
"I'm Sirius Black."
When so many of them spoke at the same time, their voices echoed.
Ron frowned deeply. Am I hallucinating? Why am I still alive?
"How is this possible?" He asked.
"Why are you here?" One of the Sirius asked back. "What happened to your Sirius Black?"
"My Sirius Black? What does that even mean?"
"Why didn’t he get pushed into the veil? Why is it you?" The Sirius Black asked.
Ron scratched his head, eyes narrowing as he tried to piece it all together. It was clear now that he was indeed inside the Veil, at the very least. "I don't know what you're saying. We battled Voldemort and his five clones in the Ministry. He killed Harry, so I jumped at Voldemort and dived into the Veil with him. Sirius is back outside."
"Oh!" Another Sirius Black exclaimed. "An anomaly. He's the first one!"
"What first one?" Ron finally stood up. "And where is Voldemort? I jumped in with him!"
"That guy?"
A bunch of Sirius Black stepped aside, revealing the mangled, beaten, broken body of Voldemort. Arms and legs, every limb was twisted like it was a knot on someone's birthday present. It appeared Voldemort arrived much earlier than Ron.
"Let's just kill him." Ron openly suggested and took out his wand. He was grateful that he still had it.
"Easy there, badass Ron. We're not done playing with him yet." A Sirius Black exclaimed while grinning at Voldemort and cracking his knuckles. "I wanted to do this for so long. Finally, you brought us this gift."
"Aye!"
"True!"
"Count me in!"
The hoard responded.
It all felt so unreal that Ron just sat down on the ground again. In a way, he was disappointed that he wasn't dead. There was nothing left to do anyway. Harry was dead, Dumbledore was dead, Moody was dead, and it was all his plan from the start.
"Hey, bud."
Ron looked up. It was one of the Sirius Black. Somehow, this one didn't have any tattoos on him. In fact, he had short hair and a very kind-looking face. His clothes were also very clean and formal.
Sirius Black sat down beside him and patted his shoulder. "Don't worry about it. All of us here are from different versions of the same world. All of us had one thing in common—Harry Potter never dies. On the night Voldemort killed Harry's parents, Voldemort made Harry a Horcrux too—not by choice. So, in every world, when Voldemort kills Harry for the first time, only the Horcrux inside gets killed, and Harry lives."
"Then Harry is alive?!" Ron beamed up excitedly. "Are you sure?"
"You'll have to tell us about your life first. What's your story? Look around, you're the only Ron Weasley here. Something must have gone differently."
At that, many more Sirius Black came over and sat around him. A few were still beating Voldemort, however.
Finally, Ron sighed and started his story. He reckoned that things in his life changed the day he drank that potion in Snape's lab. So, he began everything from there.
From the Triwizard Tournament to the ambush on him in the forest. From his other exploits to the Greengrass Manor incident, finally leading up to the Ministry battle. He still hid the part about Madam Bones and his son but revealed the Fleur and other girls' story.
Surprisingly, each one of the Sirius Black there looked proud of him.
"Snivellus made something that good?"
"You shagged half of the school? Even your astronomy teacher?!"
"You got a daughter?!"
"Ah, poor Hermione."
"You killed how many Death Eaters? That's fantastic!"
Ron just smiled. They're crazier than I expected. How are all Sirius Black this way?
"Harry is most certainly alive." Said the Sirius Black from before. "The five clones were the five Horcruxes. You killed Voldemort for good, Ron."
"I did?" Ron looked at Voldemort’s body. "But it's not done yet."
"Don't worry about that. We have enough time." The nicer Sirius Black said and looked at his fellow doppelgangers. "I'm sure everyone here will agree to unanimously choose you now."
"For what?" Ron asked back.
"To send you back." Sirius black revealed. "We need fifty souls to do it. For ages, we’ve been tearing each other apart, trying to decide which one of us should go—knowing the rest will fade away. But now, it’s not one of us. So, there's nothing left to argue about."
"It makes sense. He's got a family waiting for him. We got nothing," another Sirius said.
Eventually, all of the Sirius Blacks joined in.
Ron felt slightly emotional. "Thank you… All of you."
"Don’t be too quick with your thanks. We’ve still got five more to go, and it’s going to take a while. It's bad for you since time moves differently here. By the time you return, who knows how many years may have slipped by outside."
"WHAT?!"

Indeed, years did pass.
Two years went by and the memories of the Battle of the Veil were still fresh for many. But after mourning, everyone had to return to their work. No matter the sorrow, time never stopped, and the demise of Voldemort and his supporters was an opportunity that had to be seized to ensure something similar could never occur again.
Harry and Hermione returned to school for their final years. But they lacked the spirit they had before. The full hallways, the tables, and the rooms felt empty and depressing. Ron's bed in the dorm never got occupied again by anyone.
His seat in the classroom was never taken by anyone.
A place for him to sit at the Great Hall during breakfast, lunch, and dinner was always kept.
Ron Weasley was never forgotten. Every start of the new term began with remembering him. A name to remind the new students what the price of freedom was.
Before they knew it, the seventh year came to an end. Harry and Hermione walked through the giant arch of the main entrance of the school castle, heading to the boats. But, the two paused in their steps and looked behind at the school's gate.
Not having Ron's sarcastic remarks around was depressing.
"Hermione, I don't want people to forget Ron," Harry muttered, hands clenching. He felt he owed his life to Ron.
Hermione nodded and agreed. "I feel the same."
"I think a statue will do. Right there by the big entrance—Ron on one side, Dumbledore on the other. The school lost Lucius from the Board of Governors, haven’t they? If I offer to fund a few things, I bet they'd let me take his place. Then I can get it made," Harry suggested openly. He had a lot of money anyway.
Hermione clenched her fist. "Once I join the Ministry, I’ll make sure Ron’s name is remembered. I won’t let anyone forget what he’s done."
With that in mind, the two finally left and boarded the boats. The same boats on which they had arrived at Hogwarts.
Just like them, many others didn't hold much excitement this time. It was true for most of Gryffindor.
Eventually, they all sat boarded their train and arrived at the King's Cross for the last time.
Many parents had come, including the Weasleys as Ginny's sixth year also ended. It was hard to look at Molly and Arthur, their faces still recovering from Ron's sudden demise.
From there, they parted ways and continued with their decided goals. But in a few days, they received a letter from Gringotts.
Hermione and Harry arrived at the bank, only to be taken to a small room. They had no such experience with the bank, so it was all new.
In the end, an old-looking Goblin greeted them like most goblins do, and handed them two papers. The papers were the appointment letters with Ron's signature.
"Mr. Weasley wished to use these after a natural demise from age. But because of the untimely demise, Mr. Potter and Ms. Granger are now the co-owners of the charity foundation that Mr. Weasley established," the goblin explained. "As long as the money is used as per the rules left by Mr. Weasley, you two have unrestricted access to the funds."
"What rules?" Harry asked. He didn't know much about Ron's activities that involved the foundation.
The goblin handed them two sets of stacks of papers and got off the chair. He bid his farewell and left, knowing the two would need a lot of time to read through it.
However, it took longer than that since both had reasons to get emotional. There were rules that made the Foundation able to intervene if a young orphan child from a wizard family ended up in an abusive home. Exactly as in Harry's personal case.
As for Hermione, there were countless rules that tackled the issues that muggleborn wizards face, or might face. From lack of funds to lack of know-how. All of it was written down—from handing out free books to spending money to hire wizards to teach the muggleborn about the wizarding world before they arrive at the school.
"When did he do all this?" She asked.
"No idea." Harry sighed to himself. "I don't even know who to ask."
That was the problem the two faced. Ron never really involved anyone else in his plans. That left a lot of things unanswered.
"Let's not disappoint him," Hermione muttered and continued reading. Her resolve to get into the Ministry only grew stronger from there.
It appeared Ron wasn't the numbskull, thoughtless guy she used to take him for.
"What are you going to do, Harry? You really should join the Ministry." Hermione asked him.
Harry shook his head. "I'll join a quidditch team with Ginny."
"Going pro?"
"I hope to."
"Good luck."
The two returned to reading quickly, wanting to do a good job.

Ron put all his focus into returning home, to exiting the damn Veil. It felt impossible, like a man trying to climb stairs to heaven while the earth continuously pulled him down with gravity that increased with each new step.
It was then that the fifty Sirius Black got together to push him beyond. They became his stepstones in pushing him through the dark void that was beyond the white space. Voldemort was dead, killed long ago. His body disintegrated.
A lot of time had passed, as they had to wait for five more Sirius Blacks. Meanwhile, he went through changes and learned magic and anything that he could from all the Sirius Blacks there. Although most of them were similar, some had taken different paths when it came to learning magic. A few had even delved into the Dark Arts in more depth than Voldemort himself.
It was all helpful.
But now it was time to go home.
"Push!"
"Push!"
All the Siriuses chanted and pushed Ron through the darkness. It looked like a comical mess as they looked like a human centipede, or perhaps a tower.
"I can see it!" Ron shouted. "I can see the Veil! There's light on the other side!"
"Jump!" Sirius Black shouted.
"Jump, Ron!" Other Siriuses joined in. "Go on!"
All of you will… Disintegrate once I cross.
Ron glanced back down. It was dark so he couldn't see anything. He felt sad for all of them, as they all willingly gave up their chance, just to help him.
"Thank you! All of you! I will never forget this!" He thanked them and prepared to jump off the shoulder of Sirius Black right behind him.
"Tell your Sirius Black to stop being a dumbass. It's not worth it."
"Yeah! It's useless!"
"It took my death to understand it."
Ron had no clue what they were talking about, but he agreed regardless.
"I will," he said and leaped off at last. He lunged for the faint light he could see. It was hard, and physically exerting. "Ah!"
He barely managed to get a hold of the Veil, his fingertips scraping the surface slightly.
Woosh!
With that, he felt his entire body getting sucked into it, just the way he had entered. He prayed that this time it would take him outside.
He desperately wished to see his family.
Thud!
Surface?!
Cold, rough, and it felt like stone. He perked his head up quickly and looked around. A huge arena-like hall, a large stone underneath him that was like a stage. Then he urgently looked behind and there it was—the arched frame of the Veil.
Tears of joy welled up in his eyes. This was the hall under the Ministry.
"Thank you… you madmen."
Ron patted his clothes and stood up. Everything looked the same, minus the destruction from that day. He personally looked the same, from his clothes to his face—not aged a single day.
"How much time has passed?" He felt worried about that one aspect. A few years was fine, but what if a few decades had passed? What if everyone he loved was already gone? That would be a fate worse than death. "Dammit, I don't want grandkids so soon."
Ron stormed to the elevator and tapped the button. He was so deep underground in the Ministry that no elevator came to that level that often. So, for a while, he was left tapping his right foot impatiently.
Let's just go and see Amelia. She'll have all the answers I need. He desperately looked at the marker above the elevator door. Fuck! They need to upgrade their elevators.
Ting!
"Finally!" Ron jumped inside and sized up the bored-looking operator. "Level one! Quick!"
The operator didn't even look at his face and just smashed the button. With that, the elevator moved up, sideways, back and forth, before finally arriving at level one.
"Oil the darn thing." Ron barked as he got off and stormed towards the Minister's office. Unlike the deep underground floors, this one was packed with activity. As he walked through the busy hallway, many wizards and witches passed by.
Some jumped out of his way to the side, some froze with their jaws open, and others lost the grip of whatever they were holding.
Ron noticed their reactions but didn't stop. He quickly arrived outside the Minister's office. However, he paused for a quick moment because on the wall outside the Minister's door, to the right, was a portrait—His portrait.
Bloody hell! How long has it been?
He felt shocked and stifled, and stormed through the door. The first large room belonged to the secretary, so Ron didn't stop there. It was even better that the secretary was busy. He just grabbed the Minister's door handle and turned it, pushing it open.
"What the!" He halted, frowning. He stared at the Minister's chair, and then quickly stepped back out of the office to read the sign on the door. Making sure it said Minister, he walked back in, confused. "Shacklebolt? Where's Minister Bones?"
"R-Ron?"
"Yeah?" Ron looked at the tall man in the Minister's seat. The entire room had a different air. Unlike the clean and minimalist that Amelia liked, now it looked like a posh, old antique collector's office room. Polished wood everywhere, the scent of wood in the air, bookshelves, and a fireplace.
"Ronald Bilius Weasley?"
"That's me. I just got out of the Veil," Ron replied, clearing the confusion as he approached the table. "What's going on? Where is Madam Bones? How long was I gone?"
He doesn't look that old.
From Shacklebolt's point of view, a man who looked like Ronald Bilius Weasley suddenly appeared. Was he just going to believe it without making sure? Absolutely not.
"Prove it." Shacklebolt prepared to draw his wand quickly if need be.
Ron scratched his head. "How?"
Shacklebolt froze too. How indeed. "Memories? Show me the memories where I was present too. That way, I can examine if they are true or a fabrication."
"Brilliant idea! Do you have the sink?" Ron asked back. Having lived with so many Sirius Blacks for so long had changed his personality slightly. A little more eccentric and quick.
"I have one right here."
Ron then quickly put his memory in the pensieve. The memory of his first meeting with Shacklebolt. Their work together in the Knockturn Alley, and then the final battle.
"It's really you!" Shacklebolt exclaimed. "How did you survive?"
"It's a long story."
Clak!
"Minister, the draft is completed. They need your appr…"
That voice! Ron jumped up from his seat and turned around. Sirius had taught him to never show tears in front of a girl, but it was really hard. Seeing Hermione again was the true approval that he was truly home.
Right there, he saw Hermione lose her grip on the file folder she was carrying. Her face froze in a shocked expression. But Ron honestly appreciated how amazingly beautiful she had gotten. She was clearly older now, but whatever weight she had gained, had made her look taller and finer. Her hair was somehow straight, and she looked charming.
"W-Who are you?"
"He's him." Minister Shacklebolt left his chair all of a sudden and walked past Hermione. He tapped on her shoulder before leaving. "I've confirmed, it’s Ron Weasley. I'll leave you two to talk."
Ron matched with her watery eyes. He didn't move and let her slowly reach closer to him. He felt worried about how she might react. The last memories he gave her before 'dying' weren't really happy memories.
Let's just face it like a man.
"Hey, Hermione."

Pat!
Hermione softly tapped on his cheeks. Her eyes looked as if diluted, her movement stiff.
Pat!

"It's really me, Hermione."
Pat!
Pat!
"Bloody hell, just slap me for good if you want." Ron felt more worried at the lack of outbursts. "I'm sorry, I couldn't return earlier. I was stuck inside and so much happened. It turns out, you don't really die once you fall in there. You get stuck in a time pris—"
Woosh!
Hermione lunged at him and hugged him, arms wrapped around his neck. Her little sniffles became audible, and her tears drenched his neck. He shut his mouth and embraced her back by her waist and held her close.
"I missed you," Hermione murmured weakly. "I missed you so much."
"Me too," Ron replied. At the end of the day, she was one of his two closest friends. More than friends perhaps. "I'm sorry, Hermione. I'm sorry for everything."
"Shh… Don't, it's been seven years. No need to bring that up—"
"S-Seven?!" Ron broke the hug abruptly and shouted. "Seven bloody years? What? Merlin's beard! Oh no, no, no… That's almost a decade!"
Anne and Edgar must be seven too. Oh dear Merlin's tits! Oh no, they won't even recognize me. What have I done? This is madness. Death was better.
"Ron? What happened there? You look… the same."
Ron looked at his absolutely stunning friend and grabbed her hands. "Hermione, bring Harry along to the Burrow. I will explain everything there. I'm sorry, I must go home now and check something."
Snap!
Ron vanished instantly.
Blank-faced, with dry tears, Hermione was left standing there dumbfounded. But Ron leaving didn't shock her.
"H-How did he apparate away from the Minister's office? Wait, was that even Apparition?"

With the crackle of the air, Ron appeared right outside the front door of his house. The place looked just as it was back then, but he could feel there was more magic in it. He had already upgraded it and increased the space inside with magic.
"Mum! Dad! I'm back!"
Clak!
Ron opened the door and stormed in. The same old cozy feelings overcame him, the same couch and the sitting area. He felt his heart throb in anticipation. So, he rushed towards the kitchen since it was almost afternoon.
"Mum!" He shouted.
As he entered the kitchen, he saw Molly's back. For some reason, she was so lost stirring the pot on the stove that she didn't even hear him shout and come so close. He reached all the way to her right side and looked at her aged face. It broke his heart.
"Mum, look at me. I'm back."
Molly's tears ran out. "I-I still hear him… Oh, Ron."
"..."
At that point, Ron ran out of patience, grabbed her chin, and turned her face towards himself. "Mum, I came back! I got out of the damn Veil in the Ministry. Look, tall and strong!"
"..."
There was still no reaction from Molly. She looked left and right, pinched her own face, and then tried to wave her hand across Ron's body as if to see if he was a ghost. But she smacked it right on his face.
Finally, she flinched. Then, she touched him all over. Then, without saying anything, she unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt and pulled it open. She glared at the mole right under his right nipple.
"My Ron!"
"..."
It was Ron's turn to be speechless. But he hugged her back nonetheless. At that point, weirdness ran in the family.
"Yeah, it's your Ron."

It was a grand feast that night. It felt like half the Wizarding Britain landed at the Burrow. Ron met with them all, and as soon as Harry arrived, he hugged his best mate and took his small gang to the top floor where his cozy room was. There, he sat down in the comfortable chair and watched every face. They all looked older.
"So you ended up marrying my sister." Ron looked at Harry and Ginny sitting shoulder to shoulder on the carpet floor. "Too bad, I couldn't be there."
"We missed you," Ginny said emotionally.
"Oh, it was a mess. But what about you, Hermione?" Ron looked at her with interest. "No romance?"
"Her work is her romance," Harry quipped. "It's rare to find her outside the Ministry. Gatherings like today are more uncommon than Luna's creatures."
I probably caused that. Ron felt guilty in his heart.
"And you, Neville? Hannah? When did it start?" Ron looked at the clumsy wizard who had grown tall, strong, and confident by now.
"In the sixth year… It just happened," Neville embarrassedly answered. "But enough about us. Tell us how you survived inside the Veil, Ron. We all saw you jump into it."
"Well, first of all, I thought Harry died back then." Ron looked at his mate. The scar on Harry's forehead had healed by now. "I was wrong, clear—"
Knock Knock!
All heads turned towards the door.
But it was only Ron who stood up. It was an automatic response to the stunning sight. Fleur was at the door, at last. In her comfortable slim blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and a jeans jacket. She had aged, and she had aged like a fine wine. Ron could see the hint of Apolline in Fleur, especially in her curves. Her hair had grown even longer, and her face even more beautiful.
"I brought cookies." Fleur waved the box in her hand.
"And yourself," Ron replied and walked up to her, pulling her in a warm hug by her soft waist. But Fleur responded with a shameless kiss instead, taking him by surprise and sucking the flavor out of him. She wrapped her arms around his neck as if trying to get her payback for going missing.
"Guys, not now!" Ginny shouted, a blush on her face clear.
"Oh!" Fleur shyly stopped kissing Ron and looked around at the room, waving her hand. "Pardon me, a certain someone promised to marry me... and zen disappeared for seven years."
The greatest regret of my life.
Ron sighed and sat back in his chair again. "I really wanted to come back, but the Veil had me stuck. It's an entire dimension inside of it. If not for the help I got in there, I'd still be stuck."
"Hmm…" Fleur hummed and put the cookie box on the floor in the middle. Then, she walked over to Ron and sat down sideways right on his lap. Her one arm hugged around his neck and she felt his strong arm support her back. She kissed his lips again, her heated body very evident from touch. "Don't expect easy atonement, Monsieur Weasley."
Oh, he felt her butt wiggle on his lap so clearly. He hugged her back tighter in response. He knew she had a lot of things she wanted to ask but was saving it for later. He wanted to ask them too, so he kept calm.
"Ron," Fleur suddenly whispered into his ear, her lips grazing him softly. "Do not worry, you can look at her. Ze girl will not bite."
Ron felt his heart race. He knew she was talking about Hermione. He could feel Hermione's burning gaze ever since Fleur had appeared. He just tried not to look in that direction.
"Guess, to surprise who I found stuck inside the Veil…" Ron continued with his story. "Sirius freaking Black! Forty-five of them…!"
Ron told the entire ordeal from the beginning to the end. The fact that the Veil was connected to multiple dimensions of their world. And that all those thrown into the Veil end up in the same place. It was an unbelievable story, but considering they were all wizards and witches, it wasn't impossible.
"Then, I found myself back outside, on that stone floor. I rushed to the Minister's office only to find out that seven years had passed." Ron squeezed Fleur's frame against his chest. "Seven long years."
The blonde quarter-Veela felt his emotions and caressed his hair. Though it was unknown if her little movements were aimed at making Hermione jealous. "Don’t worry, Ron. I showed Anne your portrait every single day. Eet is wonderful zat you look ze same—wonderful for both me and Anne."
That last part had a little more pitch than the rest.
Ugh, stop teasing Hermione. Ron felt even more guilty.
"By the way, what was my O.W.L score? I never found out," Ron asked them out of nowhere. "I'd like to take the N.E.W.Ts quickly and start working."
"You had an almost perfect score, Ron," Harry delightedly revealed. "Six 'O's and three 'E'"
Ron scratched his head. He expected four 'O's at best. "Six? What are the subjects?"
"DADA, Charms, Astronomy, Transfiguration, Potions, and Care of Magical Creatures. Even I was shocked," Harry answered. "I got a D in History of Magic. How did you manage to get an E?"
Care of Magical Creatures I can understand since it's Hagrid. But Astronomy? Ah, is it because Professor Sinistra and I… Makes sense. But the O.W.Ls are evaluated outside the school.
It was confusing, but who was he to deny that?
"Congratulations, Ron," Hermione voiced from the side. However, her eyes were only fixed on Fleur. "Joining the Ministry will be easy for you."
"I reckon, I can become an Auror. I'll clear the N.E.W.Ts as soon as possible."
"That's great, I'll forward it to the Minister. He'll be excited to have you." Hermione got up after saying that. "It's getting late, and I still have some work left. I'll take my leave then."
You're hurt. Ron noticed the monotone sound in her voice.
"We should head out too." Neville stood up.
At last, Harry and Ginny got up. However, before they left, Ginny winked back at Fleur. "Have a good night."
