The name of the Elden Ring boss "Grafted Scion" is a bit of a pun. Scion can mean both a descendent to a noble family and a branch that is grafted to another plant to make a new organism. In the case of this enemy, both meanings likely apply.

Miyazaki was inspired by reading English fantasy books as a child when he didn’t fully understand the language, so he filled gaps in the story with imagination... which.. I'm sorry Miyazaki... but it lead to something great

Miyazaki tricked Sony into letting him make demon souls. He told them he was gonna make a game like oblivion(they wanted to compete with Microsoft). Instead he made the game he always wanted to make, they were very unhappy when they found out.

Pinocchio based souls-like "The Lies of P" features Pinocchio riding a submarine called the "Pistris". This is an ancient Greek word for sea monster or whale and references Pinocchio being swallowed by a sea creature in the novel as well as the Disney movie.
