BTW I sorta thought we would learn more about the former duchy given the cliffhanger last chapter. I'm curious what the mom's actual political situation is given she's avoiding the general.

That patent guy would definitely be a useful friend to have. I wonder if her first foray into the political world will be through him making the business connections or if it'll be due to her lineage? Either way there is a lot of potential here.
