The biggest bombshell drop was Matt learning the truth about Sister Maggie. He lost his father a long time ago, he was mentored by Stick, and the only true paternal figure he has this whole time was Father Lantom. How else was he supposed to bear the news that his mother was alive?

They did give us a clue that Matt's mother was still around, wayyyy back in season 1, episode 2. At around 34:40, Jack Murdock makes a phone call to an unknown person. A woman's voice mail picks up, and it says, "Hi, not here. Leave a message." Jack says, "Hey, it's, ah, it's me. I'm about to go do somethin', well, I'm about to go be me. You know better than anybody that doesn't always go so well. I-I don't know how this is gonna go, but if I were a bettin' man... Matty's gonna need you. More than ever. Look after him, ok? And, and I know what I'm askin' here, but he's, he's a good kid. He sure as hell didn't get that from me. So. It's better this way. Just once, I want Matty to hear people cheer for his old man. Just once." And then of course Jack went and knocked out Carl "Crusher" Creel (who later became the supervillain known as The Absorbing Man) instead of throwing the fight as he'd agreed to do, and Jack was killed.

I didn't see the reveal coming regarding Maggie. However re-watching DD with you I noticed hints in the episodes. These darn 'real heroes of the show' keep you so focused on everything else you never are allowed to process those hints into anything more.

Hey Jax, I knew about Sister Maggie being Matt's mom from the comics. It was a big nod to comic book readers at the end of Defenders when they say "get Maggie" when we find Matt has survived. Kinda told us they were going to use this storyline for DD season 3. This season proves why DD is the best Marvel show!

There were a few times that i thought you were going to guess it. When you made the "motherly figure" comment for one lol GREAT episode!!! Matt, Karen, and Foggy all had such impactful arcs! Closing in on the home stretch ❤️
