Karly doesn't really appear in the comics, she is based on a character in the comics, Karl Morgenthau aka Flag-Smasher, who was a terrorist who believed nations in general were oppressive and wanted to end all of them. He wasn't a big important villain and he died too. There's similarities with their goals, but it's not the same thing and they don't have much in common other than their names. He was not a super soldier, just a regular human with good fighting skills. So since she was just inspired by him and only shares his name I'd say she's a original character.

Oh, that's right! I guess I was hoping that the heart-shaped herb had started to grow again. It's so sad it was destroyed.

In Black Panther (the movie) Killmonger burns all the heart-shaped herb, plus only the king or protector of Wakanda can use it, and the Dora Milaje are simply well-trained warriors.
