Excel LADZ - 2024-25 NBA Team-Based Model
🕑 Added 2024-11-21 11:04:09 +0000 UTCG'day, lads! Attached is the 'Excel LADZ - 2024-25 NBA Team-Based Model'. This model relies totally on a team's stats this season, with no regards to the players in/out of the squad. I built this model so that it's possible for users to compare between the Player-Based NBA Model, and this one.
To refresh the data, go into the 'Data' tab and select the "Refresh All" icon. This will update the model's data by refreshing its connection with the internet and Basketball Reference. An article and video explaining how the model was built will be released shortly π₯

Sorry, Jacob. I missed this comment initially π’ I've responded to your private message π The "Legacy" workbooks perform the exact same calculations as the non-legacy workbooks. However, they are just less efficient. This is because they use "Legacy" functions. Some users on the Patreon don't have access to the new and efficient array formulas, and so I have to create versions of each model that use old formulas. The models both achieve the same thing, but usually the "Legacy" version will take longer to load as the formulas are less powerful π₯

Hello, first off I want to thank you for all of the hard work you've put into this. I'm just noticing that in this model it appears that the team stats are about 5-6 games behind what they actually are. Just wondering if it's something on my end. Also, what is the difference between legacy and non-legacy workbooks? Do the outcomes change?

Hi Jonathan π Welcome! Iβve seen your other messages, and itβs really strange youβre experiencing these errors given that you have the latest version of Excel. Youβre more than welcome to send me a screenshot of your issue through Discord or email: ladz.excel@gmail.com. Different errors mean different things, so the source could be tracked down quickly for you! Iβm glad the Legacy is working really well though π₯

When I open the Base Model sheet it give me an error. The Legacy sheet work but eh Base model has error messages

Hi Randy! No, this model is purely team-based. I built it in contrast to the Player-Based NBA model, so you could compare the two and see the effect of player ins & outs. Over the next couple of days, I'll be adding in the live odds feature and starting lineups Power Query to the original NBA Model π

Apologies mate, just an oversight. It's up now for both the Normal and 'Legacy' model π The spread gives an advantage to the 'Home Team' in this model. For example, 6.5 gives the Home Team a 6.5 advantage. On the other hand, -10.5 would penalise the Home Team by 10.5 points π₯

Hey there LADZ, great idea! Just downloaded the model, but I seem to be missing the Odds tab. Is that on purpose or an oversight? Second question: for the spread, which team is the threshold being set for?
