The whole sequence with Tanjiro vs Zohakuten, Muichiro and Gyokko scraping for excess time when in the manga Gyokko got blitzed within only 5-7 pages. The Rengoku flashback never happened

Tanjiro with a mark was seen blitzing the emotion demons with no effort, and he was strong enough to slice through gyutaros neck despite being poisoned and having his arm almost severed off. Tengen or Shinobu being the weakest hashira is debetable but for me I got Rengoku below Tengen just off of feats and what we've seen so far

So a lot of people are going to complain about the handling of Gyokko as an Upper moon who's stronger than Gyutaro. There are 2 major points that need to be understood. The only character we have seen get a mark thus far was tanjiro who is a strong swordsman but not even close to hashira level. Muichiro gained the mark as a hashira and we got to see how powerful that really is. It also doesn't help that Tengen is considered one of the weakest Hashira. Second Gyokko serves the story by showing us how strong the mark is, it is obviously a major power boost. It is very similar to how Naruto handles Kakuzu. Kakuzu is introduced as this new strong member of the Akatsuki and Naruto packs him up with the new Rasenshuriken. Just my defense of Gyokko within the story as he is very heavily criticized in the manga.

I think Gyutaro seemed like a harder challenge because Muichiro is both a prodigy and had the mark, maybe Tengen isn't as strong as base Muichiro? Also plot, Gyutaro vs Tengen was the season finale so it had to be epic.
