An Amazing Month Behind - A New Direction Ahead!
🕑 Added 2023-03-01 16:50:29 +0000 UTCWhew! February is now over and it's been an epic month for everyone in Genshin land! HuTao and Yelan headlining a double banner resulted in Genshin's biggest sales to date. It's also massively boosted this Patreon, with us jumping from 220 subs at the start of the month to just a bit over 500 at the peak a few days ago!
But now that the month is over, a lot of the subs that came when a few of the tweets I made about HuTao achieved some moderate viral success are now leaving - after all a lot of Patreons (not just here, but in general) only plan on signing up for the month; so I expect the subs to settle around the mid 400s before, hopefully climbing again!
Anyway, less than 30 days, and I put out an amazing number of mods, even if I must say so myself - 55 Primary variants, a bunch of requested variants and additional request fulfillments.
I'm definetly headed for burn out if I continue this pace.
Which is why I'm changing things up to help moderate that. But also because I think towards the end of the HuTao/Yelan campaign, you were all also getting a bit burnt out on constant releases of one or two characters.
Going forwards, instead of a mega release with 30-50+ variants per character (after requests are accounted for), I'll be doing smaller interleaved releases - starting with Dehya.
The plan will be to make 3-5 variants of a character, then move onto other characters; both diving back to previous characters to release more variants, and to create more costumes and parts for them for new release packs... as well as working on more characters sooner - especially 4 star characters which more people will have, but don't see their own banner releases!
This will naturally mean a bit more of a gap between releases as I'll need the actual time to prepare the content (modelling, UV mapping, texturing, rigging, troubleshooting, etc), but for the most part I'll still attempt to keep my releases to around the 1+ a day mark (down from the very intense 3-4 from last month).
However, I am going to get some help soon, I've been talking to members of the modding community and reached out for help - so my ability to supply variations both specific request and voter fulfillments should improve once I get them on board. I also plan on partnering with them to create additional content tiers - where you can get my stuff and their stuff at different tiers. This will hopefully create a win-win-win for everyone; you, me, and them - you get more genshin mods with more variety, I get more time to breath, and they'll see their skills improve and get access to a proveably appreciative and enthusiastic crowd of Patreons.
I'll be making moves to setup a discord this month. This will help with communications and organization - I can get more direct feedback from you guys while showing off more stuff (and doing regular live streams as I make stuff). Additionally the shared interests can help to create additional value among all of you.
In terms of mod content, for this month I'll continue chasing the banner releases - so Dehya first up (WIP released an hour ago as of this post), then transitioning to Ayaka and Shenhe.
Ayaka is going to get a bikini outfit based on this excellent piece of art.
Shenhe is undecided right now - I'll probably be putting up a poll to ask what sort of outfit you want on her!
Beyond that, I'll be working on a standard banner 5-star... again up for votes, as well as a couple 4-stars if I can fit them in.
Finally, I plan on taking some time to improve my skillset during this month so I can offer you all more! AI art is an intriguing new phenomenon; which is becoming increasingly potent, and is something that can fit into my skillset quite well (especially when pairing with 3D models and designs that I can pose). There's also Genshin animation modding which now exists in its early days - I want to see what I can do to help push forward that stuff there!
Thanks for your time as always!
TLDR:
- Changing Release Strategy from Megapacks (30-50+ Variants per character) to more varied releases (3-6 per Banner character, then a variety of old (previously made) and new characters, with both patron/voter request fulfillment and new costumes).
- Gonna take time to work on new things including AI art and Animation mods
- Will be getting help from modders to improve release rate and create more content options.
- Will be setting up a discord server this month.
- Dehya, Ayaka, Shenhe releases + a standard banner 5 star and some 4 stars if possible.

Yeah, a lot of people have asked about that, so it'll be an option.

I have a question. Can we include the removal of the character's abdominal muscles in the monthly request?

Glad you're enjoying it! It's one of the best modding communities I've found, so take advantage of it - respectfully of course!

take care of yourself first buddy! I'm really more and more interested in mod creation since I discovered this vast content on gamebanana, I'm getting familiar with blender software little by little but I'm still a newb despite watching different tutorials I still have a little difficult to use and understand certain features. I would still like to try to modify the textures of a character model for example, but it seems very complicated to me for the moment, I will continue my research as well as the viewing of tutorials and I think of subscribing to go watch the tutorials made by tedom on his patreon. I was also able to slightly enrich my knowledge thanks to the discord serv, maybe I'll get somewhere if I keep learning and persevering even if it's just for fun ahaha

Yeah, I'm pretty ok right now - but I'm considerate towards mental health, so I'll make sure that things can be sustainable in the long term then just try to push through.

Yes, I still plan to continue fulfilling variant requests. It's a good feature of this community and helps me generate content that you all want too!

:O You got caught using risky business stuff! Stick to the lewds and you'll be fine :)

Appreciate the update and look forward to seeing what you have in store. This is no means any pressure, I'm sure most of us would rather you be in a healthy state of mind.

''Id rather have high quality models of a wide variety of characters then have an insane amount of variants for a small pool of characters'' that!

lol a month of mods is awaiting me since i got banned yesterday cant wait to see what will be out once im unbanned

Totally understandable! I just got here but i already really appreciate the work you've already done and intend to do~ you've knocked stuff out of the park for sure so far with tons of variants and i can definitely understand that if you keep going at that pace it can cause fatigue or start to diminish some quality out of the next main project you are working on. That being said, are variants requests still allowed if they are simple enough? Like just bigger booba or some color swapping and such?

Id rather have high quality models of a wide variety of characters then have an insane amount of variants for a small pool of characters. Theres so many characters i feel like are lacking good mods atm, so Im happy for this change.
