Regarding the question of legal liability if you receive CSAM, I don’t know the situation in the UK, but in Ireland the law is that if a person or organisation receives CSAM or it’s found on a computer that they have authority over, it MUST be reported to the cops– you have no discretion in the matter. (I know this because a friend was working as a systems administrator in a company where they found CSAM in a personal folder on a server. He called the cops as the law required and their forensics people were able to determine it had been *planted* by another employee that the owner of the folder had beef with! Absolute psycho behaviour)
