The doubts of his ability to raise this small, fragile human child would settle in. And even though he’d never show Alisa that more than anything, he was frightened he would fail her as a parent, he would worry about it all the time. “Am I doing the right thing? Would it be better to give her to humans who would be better equipped to raise her?” Such thoughts would frequent him regularly. And yet he never could bring himself to give that child back to the realm of humans. Why? Yes, he would ask himself that often. Why couldn’t he let go? Selfishness? Pride? Love? A string sense of responsibility? Maybe. He agonized over this many times. The plight of a parent.
