Many of their fellow Harbingers have lost many memories Over time but they retain many memories even from their childhood (I mean… not all because they have many many traumas that both their brain and Neith blocked because she deemed those memories too much to deal with at that time)
However, for some reason, they don’t really remember most of their “lovers” after their time ended. Most of them were humans so part of the reason is that Asta is watching this person age, and the face they knew keeps being replaced while they stay the same. And then they reach an age where lust isn’t as strong as it was, and Asta is no longer in their lives. SOME human lovers they’ve remembered because they’re absolutely insane. Those fun people you just couldn’t forget.
But something that Asta sometimes thinks about is how they can’t remember the face of some of the people they’d pranced around the beaches of Greece with, or the nobles they’ve danced across the palace of Versailles with, which ruler of which dynasty they resided in which palace. They consider it a little nonchalantly, like “oh shit I can’t remember lol”.
But other times, when they haven’t performed enough sin to sustain their power, they slip into humanity a little more. And then it becomes something to panic about. I mean, think about it. You’ve spent YEARS with someone. And You can’t remember anything about them? Someone dedicated so much time, so much life and resources to you. And You cannot remember them. You couldn’t honor the things and time you gave them. And now they’re dead and gone, swallowed up by the ever-flowing river of time. For you, time is an endless resource as long as you continue to perform your duties. But it isn’t the same for the thousands of lovers Asta has enjoyed. And when they are weak, this thought torments them to the brink of insanity. The guilt of not remembering.
It’s alright though. All they need is to fulfil their duties as a Harbinger of Lust. They’ll make more lovers become obsessed with them, take their years and dedication and possessions, and they will regain their power enough to bring back the indifference that only a being outside of humanity can enjoy. Rinse and repeat.

Nothing and no one is serious to Asta. Their relationships with human beings are fun but pretty fleeting. And at some point it doesn’t really matter who the person is cos they’ll all do the same things, then the years will go on, and they’ll get more “lovers”. Nothing is serious 😔
