As a note, I am going to try for something in a standalone universe for January, as I do understand "franchise fatigue." I've just been trying to deal with my gears being a little jammed by the world outside the words. I think I've almost shaken the grit loose, however.

Granted, it would seem to be possible to heal trauma with a single spell if you're okay with using a very blunt instrument and know somebody powerful enough to wield it; I don't doubt that cutting out memories is harder when you aren't removing memories of magic that don't belong in the human head where they're problematic, but I also don't doubt it's still possible for certain members of Faerie. And probably, were somebody dedicated enough to do the necessary research, it would be possible to develop some magic stronger than anti-anxiety tea that's still less extreme than mnemectomy. Perhaps Faerie is now reaching the point that such research will actually be conducted, and in a few decades the fae will have some of the shortcuts that humans wish existed.
