God Almighty Chapter 01
🕑 Added 2023-07-23 03:37:58 +0000 UTCThe Clock Tower. the faction belonging to Brishisan, a student of Solomon, who was one of the people who founded the Mage's Association, alongside Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg, another fellow student of Solomon.
It is a terrible place filled with backstabbing, betrayals and things that would drive any normal man insane. Thus, it can also be said that the Clock tower is filled with the insane.
Which makes the person who leads them to be even more insane.
Kischur Zelretch Schweinorg, the old man of the jewels and the second magician who utilize the kaleidoscope, The second true magic.
Zelretch is…weird. Even considering the other magi he can be considered unique among them.
A student of Solomon, the King of Magecraft
The holder of the second true magic.
And the self-appointed greatest troll in existence.
At the top of the clocktower, in the office of the director of the clock tower, Zelretch sat on his chair going through various reports. Most of them were about the “fuck-ups” a few magi caused.
His office was quite spacious. A few bookshelves filled with “priceless books”, Which is a lie, his true book collection is only accessible by him and his friend. The “priceless” books that fill his office bookshelves are traps. Fake books which will “punish” any person who touches them without his permission.
Behind him is an alcohol cabinet. Which contains the oldest alcohols in the world. The youngest of bottles is 150 years old.
“Another mage killed by the church for their human experimentation.” Zelretch sighed exhaustedly.
Why do magi keep on experimenting on people without any connection to the moonlit world.
Maybe he should kill a few of them as a reminder.
Zelretch rubbed the bridge of his nose.
The crimson spider will destroy humanity in the next 180 years yet magi organizations are still in in feud.
He needed a vacation.
Pop. A familiar popping resounded through his office. The previous office which only contained Zelretch now contained one more person.
“Your late.” Zelretch spoke. His voice laced with exhaustion.
“Late? What is late? Isn’t being late a concept, that mortals made, so as people who have long ascended from mortality we must shed those notions as well,” the newcomer spoke dramatically.
Zelretch sighed and put away his work so he could look at his friend.
Heterochromatic eyes, his left eye was turquoise and his right eye was snow white platinum – he has no idea why his friend insisted on him calling his right eye snow white platinum instead of silver. His hair was like the void with its pitch-black color that seemed to absorb all light. His skin pale and unblemished.
The robe he was wearing woven not out of fabrics, instead it was woven from darkness and starlight.
The gloves he was wearing, made from the scales of an elder dragon.
His shoes, woven from the wind and shadows from a hell dimension.
The cane which he held. Crafted from the bones of dragons, filled with the blood of gods and then enchanted using primordial runes.
“So zelly…” his friend spoke. He was not even mad that he called him zelly. The wizard Marshall only felt sadness…
“I came to say goodbye.”
For this might be the last time he would see his friend.
“Huh. Need a drink?” he asked full well knowing he would say no. but it was tradition at this point.
“I’ll take a raincheck on that.”
Zelretch sighed and leaned back on his chair.
“Are you going do this. are you going to keep doing this? Which attempt is this.”
His friend sighed. His youthful face seemed to become decades older.
“I have to do it. no matter how much I try to forget, I can’t sleep at night knowing that there is still one more step to take and also, I found a new method.”
“there’s is always a step to take. There will always will be a higher mountain, always will be someone stronger than you. Why can’t you accept it?
why can’t you just accept it. accept it and go find your children and ask for forgiveness. They are still waiting for you.”
“I could not write about ‘ordinary people’ because I am not in the least interested in them.” His friend quoted Lovecraft. To a stranger his word may seem wise but he knew better.
“I do not want to be ordinary. I want to stand at the top.” The resolution behind it would have been admirable.
“that’s what you said, the last time and the time before that.” I remembered; at the beginning it was admirable. But now I realize.
“Repeating the same thing over and over again is insanity.” He has gone insane.
“doesn’t matter. I WILL BECOME omniscient and omnipotent.” He added. “I came to say goodbye for now. I’ll see you in my next try.” He tapped his staff on the floor and vanished.
“Becoming omniscient and omnipotent won’t erase your mistakes.” Zelretch muttered to himself.
Sigh. How many times will he do this? I don’t understand. Not anymore.
Why can’t he stop? Doesn’t he realize…
Knock. Knock.
“Come in.” with His permission his newest students opened the door and stepped in.
His two students came in, Rin and Luvia. While using his kaleidoscope he learned that both of them have above average aptitude to master the kaleidoscope, so he took them as his students.
More users of the kaleidoscope will be useful when the spider awakens.
“Teacher I was wondering if – Are you okay master Zelretch.” My recently chosen apprentice, Rin asked me.
“I’ll be fine.” He replied. What kind master would he be if he let his students worry about him.
Though he may have not made a good effort in actually hiding.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Rin asked hesitantly.
“Miss Gorilla have you no tact. Who am I kidding, of course a gorilla like you has no tact.” Though she mocked her fellow apprentice Zelretch saw that she too was worried of him.
“Who you calling gorilla you bitch.” Rin shouted.
“Who you calling a bitch you dumb gorilla.” Luvia shouted back.
Zelretch sighed in exasperation. Yet he did not stop them. He watched them fighting each other verbally with a smile on his face.
It reminded him of simpler times when he and Brishisan both learned under their teacher.
Zelretch sighed. Which he realized was something he did too much of.
He doesn’t need to be worried about “him”. Afterall when it comes to surviving, he might as well be a God at it.
his children are still waiting for him. He almost felt sorry when the day comes when he meets his children. Almost.
-Scene change-
Inside a spacious room lit by starlight lanterns, lanterns which contain a mini-star, the stranger who was Zelretch’s friend stood in the middle of the room muttering in a language unknown to the world.
His eyes were closed in concentration. Beads of sweat poured down from his head.
His eyes started bleeding, blue blood came poured down from his left eye and green blood poured down from his right eye.
His voice became drier, worms of time and stars started squirming under his skin.
The stranger opened his eyes and loudly exhaled in exhaustion.
“All preparations are set.” The stranger muttered to himself.
“This will be my final attempt…”
Memories started assaulting his mind, memories of better times, his children. Oh, his beautiful children.
The past threatened to swallow him and drown him in regrets.
“Daddy!? Don’t go!”
“Father. are you leaving?”
“Could you tell me one last bedtime story.”
He steeled his heart and mind, purging away the guilt and regret.
“…to go above ‘0’.” He spoke with resolution.
“And then I can finally ask for forgiveness.” He added, his voice laced with hope.
With a wave of his hand, he opened a small door, which was connected to his treasury, from which he pulled out a black lifeless orb of water. The orb was the size of a basketball due to it being compressed, if he were to expand it, the entire world would drown.
“The Ocean of discord.” He muttered in accomplishment. His fourth greatest creation.
It took him many restarts to craft it.
Forged in the center of a dying universe. Crafted using the gem of Lapis Lazuli which was fused with the heart of Poseidon, rumble-rumble fruit which absorbed the blood of Zeus and Thor, tremor-tremor fruit which bathed in the blood of Poseidon and hades, The intestine of hades infused with the essence of Erebus, Ketsuryūgan infused with the blood of the noblesse, Sha Naqba Imuru, Anodite essence, blood of great red blessed by the dream of the endless, tears of Yahweh, horn of Surtur infused with the blood of Sól, a fragment of the algorithm of destiny and eye of phobos. Then using a seven-leaf golden clover he stabilized it.
“With this, I have finally met all the requirements.” The stranger muttered to himself.
He cut his palm with a blade of compressed space.
Using the blood pouring from the cut he started drawing a magic circle. He drew the magic circle meticulously, ensuring that not even a single mistake was made.
“The souls of a Million Good and a Million Evil…” taking out two orbs, one black and one white, he placed them to his right and left.
“The blood of God and the tears of the devil…” taking two vials, one which held blood-red tears and the other held golden blood, he placed them in the front and the back.
Arranging the ingredients in an Array, he entered the center of it.
“Memories of 444 years for stability.”
“Memories of 777 years for perfection.”
“Memories of 1010 years for completion.”
He powered the magic circle using an extraordinary amount of his memories.
Using the magic circle, he powered the ocean of discord. Sacrificing the ingredients and his memories, until only the most important memories remained.
The lifeless looking black orb started glowing. The orb started glowing with the light of five different colors. Dark blue, Blood Red, Cornflower Blue, Alice blue and golden yellow. The fake sefirot was finally given life.
5 stars lit up within the orb, each star a different color representing a different pathway.
26 years of memories were sealed inside the ocean of discord until the time was right.
while the first 16 years were kept within him.
A temporary memory file which contained a set of instructions was activated.
Taking out a cauldron from the small door, that connected to his treasury, he started placing the ingredients robotically.
“Light of the blue lantern…Tears from the water goddess…the elements of harmony…blood of Azrael…tears of Zadkiel…and finally feathers of Raguel.” The robed man placed all of the ingredients one by one in the cauldron. The ingredients started “singing” and combined into a single pure liquid light drop.
The liquefied light started singing, it sang of cleansing the impure, saving the unsalvable, bringing to hope to the hopeless. It sang of cleansing all of evil.
“I hope you make the right choice, if not all of my sacrifices will be in vain.” The robed man muttered subconsciously.
The robed man swallowed the liquid light.
he felt his mind, soul and body tremble In pain.
His path was reset.
His insanity was cured.
The curses he accumulated over millennia dissolved.
His soul once pitch-black with only the slightest gray turned into blinding white.
The ocean of discord churned, and a shadowy fog poured out of it and swallowed him.
The orb floated in the center and with a flash it disappeared to the void between worlds, destroying the room of all mystical objects.
His journey has ended, a journey that travelled through countless worlds and spanned many millennia ended…
…and from the end of that journey, a new one has begun.
