Loved your reaction! I feel that your theories sound plausible. The orthodox gods are generally seen by the populace as good as they generally answer prayers and don’t ask for anything insane in return. Most beyonders are sequence 9-7 due to digestion generally taking a long time, trying to obtain potion formulas/ingredients and the danger of losing control when ascending. Each sequence ascension is potentially more dangerous than the last. Also, a lot of beyonders died during the Fourth Epoch. The dub is very well done, I was very impressed with it.
