Part of America's success is due to people being loyal to the country rather than, like in Rome, to a person. This began to change when Reagan took office and married the republican party to the christian right. It became more polarized when someone of a certain skin color got a certain job. Tribalism became the name of the game in 2015. This highlights a big difference between the left and the right. The left identifies with ideas, the right is loyal to their leaders.
