As you know, it's been a tough year and I don't need to recap much, but this surge in support has allowed us to continue for now. Again, thank you!
Without further blah-blah-blah, the next episode of Movies with Mikey has been a long time coming: I'm talking about the entertainment apocalypse that is Space Jam 2! It's still in the writing stages, and I'm earnestly trying to mine everything I can out of it. I think this movie represents a lot that is ... not super tasteful to me in the direction of cinema. Also, I will die on the hill that the Clockwork Orange boys do not enjoy basketball.
Stay tuned for further updates about an upcoming editing stream. This episode will be up on Nebula by the end of the month. Additionally, the episode on The Batman will be posted on Patreon on May 15 (Monday.)
Thank you all so much for being here. The next couple episodes are NOT about noir :) (they're quite goofy)

May I say, with every constructive intention possible, oh no!

Things have been tough but I'm wishing you all the best. Movies with Mikey has been one of the most consistently quality series I've seen.

“ I will die on the hill that the Clockwork Orange boys do not enjoy basketball.” I would think hockey is more their speed, what with their being fans of the old ultraviolence and all.

Definitely not easy mode, that's for sure. But I also don't think this one is "positive" insofar that a lot of ugly stuff happening in Hollywood takes root in this film.

This feels like a tough one to stay positive about but I look forward to it

[m] I'm talking about the first one in the video. I think it holds up mostly okay, for what it is. The second one is a transparent ad for Warner Bros IP in a way that rubs me the wrong way. I don't think this is a video where I'd be too upset about spoilers. I am going to go ham on all the background characters though.

"...and I'm earnestly trying to mine everything I can out of it. I think this movie represents a lot that is ... not super tasteful to me in the direction of cinema." This endeavor feels gargantuan and I for one can't wait to see where it goes.

Legit, does this mean my appreciation for the video would be enhanced by seeing the film beforehand? I'll do it, but I avoided it for a reason. Same question for a rewatch of the original film (also avoided that, but cuz I fear a rewatch would tank my nostalgia)...
Oh I am PSYCHED for this one as my reaction to that movie was visceral for all the wrong reasons.
