True Angel (DxD/ Overlord): Chapter 29
🕑 Added 2025-10-08 06:55:49 +0000 UTCThe moment I entered the Seventh Heaven, I immediately realized why Michael wanted me to protect myself with my Light energy.
The sheer weight of divinity within was so overwhelming that I had to push my Light energy to the maximum, pushing against the formless essence that wanted to invade my body.
Thankfully, my Light barrier, combined with the Key that Michael gave me, allowed me to withstand this assault of energy.
It took me a few minutes to adjust to the surroundings, but once I was sure that I could continue maintaining this light barrier and the Key would not fail on me, I started walking towards the distant golden throne that I could see.
As the former residence of a God, this place was full of his divine authority and essence, so nobody could do anything but walk in this place.
Even I was the same, since the moment I tried to use my wings to fly, or use the Fly spell, I felt the divine energies surge to unbearable levels and push down on me, as if the very heavens were protesting to me using such a method to move forward.
On some level, all of this felt like a test. As if the remnants of God’s energies were testing me or something along those lines.
So, with no other faster option available, I slowly walked forward, taking in the sights around me.
If the other heavens could be called a world of their own with their own specialities, then the Seven Heavens is an entire universe contained in a limited space.
The sky was a river of stars, bright and twinkling, soothing to the soul, as galaxies visible to the eye spun slowly in the void.
The ground beneath my feet was made out of clouds, just like with the other heavens, but within this structure, I felt strange rivers of energy that I had an odd pattern to them, as if they were veins, or maybe circuits? That guided energy within them, all of which were coming out of the Throne.
There were no walls or defined structures in this space. All I could see was an endless expanse of clouds beneath my feet and skies above my head.
A truly beautiful realm.
Soon, after what felt like hours of walking, I finally arrived at the golden throne, which, on closer inspection, showed that it was not gold at all.
It was solidified divine energy.
Incomprehensibly deep, yet hilariously weakened. That is how I would describe the divinity that was solidified into this shape. Maybe an aftereffect of God’s death?
Whatever the case may be. This throne is not the reason why I am here.
Expanding my senses as I have learned to do in the past two months, I tried to feel the energies going into and out of the throne and concentrated on those ‘energy tendrils’ that Michael was talking about.
Surprisingly, I did not have to search too hard to find some more of the same conduits that I felt beneath the ground before, but these ones were not going out of the throne like before.
These ones were moving inward, far into the depths of this realm.
Once again, I began the tiresome job of walking (which felt very tiresome after I had gotten used to just flying everywhere) and traced the input conduits deeper into the realm.
As I followed the conduits deeper, the scenery started to shift.
What was once a starry sky full of stars and galaxies became clear blue skies lit up by the sun in the distance, as the clouds below my feet changed into a calm ocean upon which I was walking without causing a single ripple.
I do not know how long I walked in this beautiful yet bizarre scenery, but finally I arrived at my destination.
One moment, I was still walking on the ocean surface, with nothing in sight as far as my eyes could see, and then, the next moment, I was suddenly standing in front of the orb that fit Michael’s description to a T.
A beautiful white metal orb that gave off a soothing, holy energy, while the small cracks that I could see on its surface leaked several powerful divine and demonic energies.
On its surface were several ancient inscriptions, runes, and seals that I could not make sense of. But I could still feel the powerful suppression effect that these restraints gave off.
And at the very center of the orb, I saw an indent that was the perfect size for the cross that Michael gave me, which meant that this was where I needed to insert the Key to gain access to the system.
Taking a deep breath, I took out the key and walked towards the orb.
“Alright. Here goes nothing.”
The moment I inserted the key, I felt the orb come to life as powerful energies burst out of it, but the thing that chilled my heart was what I saw as the orb unravelled completely.
A being of pure energy with no face to describe, and no general appearance to identiy.
Yet, I could tell immediately who this was.
“Hm. You are finally here, my dear child, Arael. I have waited a long time for you.”
Somehow, I could tell that he was smiling warmly at me despite his form having no recognizable features.
But his words were the final nail in the coffin for me as I nearly collapsed then and there with a wry smile as I caught the implications in his words.
I don’t even need to pursue the knowledge within the System Core anymore since these words from him were enough to quell any doubts that I had.
After all, how could I refute the claims of a divine being that is the creator of all Angels and claim that he is misidentifying me?
“....So, i guess I do owe Gabriel and the others an apology.”
God, the Father of Heaven, simply smiled at my words.
“I do not know what you did to ask forgiveness from your siblings, my child. But, I am sure that they will forgive you easily, because you are their most beloved brother.”
The gentle smile that I could someone tell he had made me feel like I was a child once again, back in my world, when my parents were still alive.
It gave me the feeling of safety that I had not felt for so many years that I had nearly forgotten about this kind of warmth.
But, this is not the time not place to break down.
So, I once again controlled myself and stared at God.
Or rather, his construct.
God laughed suddenly, making me look at him with confusion.
“You always were the most clever one. What you have just deduced is indeed the right answer. I am a construct. Or rather, an image of myself, stored here in the Core as a backup, just in case something ever happens to the real me.”
“...You were reading my mind?”
“Only the surface thoughts.”
“That’s an invasion of my privacy.”
The construct only raised its eyebrow (again, I don’t know how I can tell since he is a formless being from what I can see).
“That never stopped you from trying to peer into my mind during the old days in your endless pursuit of knowledge.”
I felt my face go pale at those words.
“Oh god! What the hell happened back then?”
The construct gave me a confused look before it hummed in realization.
“Ah! I see. So what I predicted came true after all.”
“...What are you talking about?”
He simply waved his hand towards the core, making a gateway materialize out of nowhere.
“Not to worry, all will be revealed soon enough. Come, let us catch up, so to speak.”
With no other choice, and with a heart full of questions, I followed the construct within.
And was greeted with an endless void of white.

He has all of those, but remember who he is facing right now. Even as a construct, the God of the Bible in DxD is said to be above literally everyone but the Dragon Gods. I mean, that guy single-handedly sealed Trihexa and then fought four original Satans until their mutual death immediately after said sealing. The same Trihexa that required literally every powerful being in the world to sacrifice themselves to create the Isolation Field Barrier to seal it up again. So, even as a mere construct created from his power, the core would be easily able to go past Aetherion's mental defences.

Wait, wait a second, you're telling me this guy, a supposedly super strong guy in Ygdrasill, doesn't have any mental protection? What next, he doesn't have clarovaynce protection, time stop and other important buffs? Because they are literally essential to win in the top of the game as Ainz once explained.
