Hmm... nothing I can suggest could possibly improve on what’s been put forward already. So if I was to take a different approach I’d imagine that Jane is actually helping Andy. Something along these lines: - My dear, you know I’m always happy to help and I don’t mind a little subterfuge, but it’s a bit much to arrive in full football gear. Wouldn’t it be easier to tell your classmates the truth rather than pretend to be at football practice? - But Auntie I can’t do that. I’d be the laughing stock of the whole school. - Silly child.
