September 28, 2018: Progress Report
🕑 Added 2018-09-29 00:57:48 +0000 UTC Hey everyone, time for the last progress report of the month. Dang, it's already the end of September. I'm pretty sure I worked everyday since the last progress report about 9 days ago yet it doesn't feel like I did much this time around unfortunately. A day was spent on fixing some bugs with Meltys Quest and then keeping up with the latest eroges. A day was spend in school. And then a day was spent on working on working on various subsystems for Pina and the Hero's Amazing Tale. That means I mostly had 6 days to work on the 'special' tree for Pina, and yet it still is not finished. Here's my progress so far:
I guess a lot of time, too much time maybe, had been spent thinking and tweaking various numbers around. I know a few Progress Reports back, I had said Pina will have 7 skill trees, but I've also been going back up and down thinking if that number should be as high as 9. Originally I had intended for Basic/Advanced/Expert Offense, Basic/Advanced/Expert Defense and one 'special' tree. Now I feel like I need 3 'special' trees for Pina, and maybe that I should merge the Advanced and Expert trees together so the left side of screen wouldn't be so crowded for Pina. Oh man, so much time is spend just thinking about game design sometimes.
Maybe I should focus first on pushing out a working demo for people to play and then iterate off of everyone's feedback rather than worrying over the various systems by myself. I dunno.
Edit: OH. That's right I had to spend the weekend assembling overpriced crap from IKEA. Still, I wish I made more progress with the five days I had.
