Happy birthday to my birthday twin, and possibly the most despised MC Iโve written yet. Vale Riviera (formerly DuPont, IYKYK).
If thereโs one thing you need to know about this guy, itโs that heโs a character you really have to read between the lines with to understand. Blink and you miss it.
This characterโฆ heโs someone who contradicts himself at almost every turn when it comes to matters of his stone-cold heart, but when he finally surrendersโฆ oof.
Whether or not he redeems himself I suppose remains to be seen. And whether or not his reasons for the way he is, the way he treats Aston, are valid and justifiedโฆ not up to me to decide.
Iโm just here to do what I love and do what I do bestโ write the incident reports and take you for a (hopefully) unforgettable ride with the voices in my head.
So, thank you for being here, thanks for giving my work a chance in the first place, thanks for all the love you show my stories and characters, and for being loyal, patient, and the best readers an author could ask for.

Happy birthday ๐ฅณ Valeโs reasons are so valid, reading between lines and of what happened to him, but Aston is such a sweetheart and was such a mama bear to the other kids when he was younger and was trying to protect everyone I just donโt think he deserves how Vale was treating him and knowing he likely didnโt remember what happened. I definitely think my opinion will change in the next book, but can understand why some readers were not liking Vale as much in this one.
