Re: strategic plays, like just isolating yourself or bringing something else to occupy yourself -- I was thinking the exact same thing just a few minutes before you mentioned it. I would imagine the contestants are given some rules that we aren't told about (at least, unless they come up). Like when Joe got penalized for covering his face. I'm just guessing, but I think it's likely, mostly just because how many really great strategic choices are so likely to be bad for the entertainment value of the show.

This is a English language version of a Japanese show called Documental which is hilarious and fascinating cos Japanese comedy has such a different rhythm so you have to learn to plug into it but when I did itβs one of the funniest things Iβve ever seen. Iβd highly recommend checking out the Documental at some point, think some of it is on Amazon Prime with full subs and such.
