Interesting, I think maybe Fern feels very bad about it so Alex agreed not to discuss it or show it. I think she would have been really upset that he got hurt at the time

They didn’t show the bit where Alex fell over in the tube task. So you don’t have to watch it back. As far as I know production wants it to be kept like a secret. And Alex and Fern don’t talk about it really. It came up a few times but Alex was always very tight-lipped. Felt like he‘s not allowed to talk about it.

I was not one of the hands in this episode, but when the Mythbusters had an idiom special and tested “Know it like the back of my hand”, I lived in San Francisco and was on their volunteer list, so got to come in and be a hand model. They had fewer hands to pick from, but a lot shorter time, like five seconds, since the essence of the idiom is you should know it remarkably well. IIRC the “myth” was Confirmed.
