This was a pleasant surprise! I had about the same expectations as you did. As you said these kids are not professional comedians, they are kids. I thought it was a little hit and miss, but overall more hits than misses. I'd have loved to see more of Reuben, he was hilarious. But I am looking forward to seeing Anita and Persia in the semi finals, they were both great too.
