jocelyn and roland were actively involved grandparents to mutt's kids - georgia, virginia, and (ken)tucky. the grandkids loved growing up with their uncle roly. also, since you put patrick and david both on town council - i have to imagine patrick is almost always the voice of reason (except as concerns the town's youth softball league?), and spends a lot of time reining in david's over-the-top ideas. ronnie still doesn't like patrick, but she doesn't really mind him being on town council because he and david usually cancel out one another's votes, which lets her actually get shit done.
