The big spider is one of the daughters of Ungoliant the Gloomweaver, who is the spirit of darkness itself represented in Spider form, which I think is very nifty.

I loved Your reaction. I'm a big fan of L. O. T. R., both books and movies. I watched movies in the cinema many times when they came. But since I got the extended edition, I couldn't watch the short version. For me the extended one is so much better. I rewatched it many times. But I love fantasy and Sci-Fi genre, I alwas did, so for me is easy to enjoy P. Jackson's movies, both L.O.T.R. and The Hobbit. But I have to admit, that with Your reaction it was for the first time I was laughing hard watching it. Have a nice time.
