Ascension - part 1

Yesterday I received the update kit to my computer and I have been surgical and extremely caucious and careful, making sure everything is perfect. And today I'm going to share some progress pictures from my study when building this magnificent machine.
First off was to take farewell with my long and hardened windows 7 pro. You where the finest OS I have ever used, and you exceeded all my expectations that first time I installed you over a decade ago. But its time to rest. After the lengthy checklist was done, it was time to hit shutdown... Forever.
Then... The package. I had to pay my respects to the travel such components have done to find their way to me, from all the corners of this earth. I also must admit i spent some time just admiring that simple cardboard box... How come something so small and light, contain so much advanced technology beyond my comprehension, how can such an box cost so much. Just thinking about all the resources taken to produce its contents. What are the real costs of it in the end?
After sugically opening the package and its contents in a sort of religious way. I decided it was time to gather the old machines for one last time before they merge. Cause, certain components where to be salvaged from them to become one. Each giving their highest sacrifce in life to a greater cause.
The Ryzen Cpu is a marvelous piece of technology, to be holding such processing power in your hand is... Intoxicating.
Then comes the motherboard.. The incredible ASRock TRX40 CREATOR such a beauty, the various warning lables stating various health hazards is something I do not take lightly, these things are almost alien in ingredients. I handle it like my life depends on it.. Which it kinda did/do.
Next up is to clean out the old hardware. I'm not one to buy RGB lights or fancy cases to showoff anymore. I have other things in focus and mind. So the old case (Haf 932) Will continue to serve as the face of my instrument of creation. But a new mouse was needed, as the old corsair one was too flimsy and tiny. Roccat has always made them in a more suitable size, but since the old one had a mechnical error and the local store and online stores did not have roccat in store, I placed my faith in corsair mouse, which was a mistake. The Corsair powersupply on the other hand... My AX1200 is a champion. and will continue to serve me, but was in dire need of a cleanout. The amount of dust was.. Straight out dangerous. I advice everyone with older psu's to have them cleaned.
After cleaning, it was looking stellar and ready for action.
The backplate of my machine was too tiny, and had to be cut and wrapped.
I started to clean one of the 3 1080's, everything will have to be in perfect condition before I turn the power on. This time with so much on the line, I cannot afford any delays or malfunctions.
Next up, it is time for installing the cpu and applying the thermal compund. A task I have done many times before, but always the most intense thing to do. I did as I always do, make a line down the cpu, then spread it out with a clean amd new/unused creditcard or in this case, an old membership card for a MSI club I had.
I also used an alcohol spray on a microfiber cloth to wipe off any dust or grease that might be on the surfaces.
Success! A perfect installation without any issues. I chose the Noctua NH-U14S. It is a phenomenal cpu cooler, one of the best in the word in fact.
Many might ask why not an AIO water kit, but understand, this machine will be online for so long periods of time, and I cannot always watch it. IF it where to start leaking its coolant, it would spell disaster for me.
So air is the safter and more relible bet.
Ending picture is the entire case with mobo installed.
Thank you fine folk of Lustgard. You made this possible for me, I will not let you down.
Just you wait and see what I will craft with this machine.

Yupp, the samsung 980 pro 2tb should be more than enough.

Hope it lives up to my expectations. Ever since my last asrock mobo, which was a recomendation from a tech wizard i know personally, I have not looked back. The 3 people who worked together with me on the parts list, all agreed this was a phenomenal mobo. Looking forward to smcheck out the bios features too. Oh my god. That should have burst into flames as it stands. If you had cleaned that out you probably could have not throttled so hard with proper cooling.

Yeah I do π, I clean lightly every year, fans, filters and intakes. but I have never done an extensive clean inside components like the psu before. And yes, that one is over 10 years old I believe.
