Time flew by quickly. In what felt like a blink, the Four Great Nations Joint Chunin Exams were about to begin.
Before leaving the village, Sawada conducted another assessment training for his disciples. The Academy would already be in session during the Chunin Exams period, so this was their last chance for intensive work.
On the training ground, his disciples stood before him after completing their evaluations. Each person's mental state was completely different, and Sawada felt genuinely accomplished watching them.
"Good work. Your assessment this time was excellent."
But he held up a hand before anyone could get too excited. "Don't you dare become arrogant, though. While you're improving, your companions around you are improving too."
Naruto and the others exchanged glances. That statement hit harder than they'd expected.
They'd discovered during recent sparring that they'd all been holding back during usual training fights. If they'd approached today thinking their strength stayed constant, they probably would've lost miserably.
Even Sasuke's left eye had progressed to three tomoe after drinking Sawada's potion. He just hadn't shown it yet.
During the earlier battle, Naruto had almost walked straight into a trap.
Sawada was curious about this development. He hadn't asked about it, and the evolution had happened purely from the system's potion. There were hardly any rewards worth mentioning.
After all, this was essentially just enhancing Sasuke's bloodline purity. His left eye advancing to three tomoe was merely residual power from the potion.
Just... his left eye.
Imagining that Sasuke's left eye would also advance to six tomoe Rinnegan in the future made Sawada wonder. Was this fate's arrangement? Or due to Indra's chakra within Sasuke?
Sasuke was different from Naruto, though. He didn't have a spiritual entity like Minato that could be tracked.
For now, Sawada could only wait. Once his sealing jutsu showed some progress later, he'd try again. Minato had relied on sealing jutsu to track him back then, after all.
Sawada pulled his attention back to the present. This assessment had been quite fruitful. Almost every disciple had brought him considerable gains.

The list continued through all his students. Dazzling rewards that satisfied Sawada greatly. The chakra increases alone were substantial.
However, aside from Naruto and Sasuke, the second rewards for other disciples all belonged to themselves. This made Sawada curious. Was it to prevent these people from falling behind the children of destiny? Or was there another purpose?
Still, it was already very good. At least Sawada didn't research secret techniques much, so this could provide training projects for Shikamaru and others in the future.
Sawada flicked his hand, and a scroll flew out. He broke the seal directly. Except for Naruto and Sasuke, all rewards from this holiday special training were distributed to the disciples immediately.
"These are the training projects I've arranged for you. Take a good look."

"This is incredible!" Choji couldn't contain his excitement.
Seeing this reaction, Shikamaru and the others opened their scrolls too. The new techniques inside made their eyes light up with possibilities.
"Hinata, drink that potion, then practice the improved Gentle Fist mental technique with Neji," Sawada instructed.
"Yes, Sensei!" Without hesitation, Hinata opened the vial and drank it all.
Only then did Sawada turn to look at the envious Sasuke and Naruto. He smiled at their expressions.
"You two, continue with elemental training. However, I might sign summoning contracts with you when I return."
Naruto and Sasuke were stunned first. Then overjoyed.
That their teacher's summoned beast was Nyanko wasn't a secret anymore. Sawada had shown his Sage Mode to them, but aside from Naruto and Sasuke, whose chakra was relatively abundant, almost no one else could sign a contract with Nyanko.
"No problem, Sensei!" Naruto answered with a beaming smile.
Sasuke was excited too. Getting help from a summoned beast felt completely different from fighting alone.
As for Nyanko, still lying on the ground, he only raised his eyelids upon hearing Sawada's words.
Although he only had one body, separating other individuals wasn't impossible. The separated ones just wouldn't be as strong as the main body.
This was something Nyanko and Sawada had researched together recently, preparing to have Naruto and Sasuke sign contracts together. Otherwise, they wouldn't even be able to summon anything when the time came.
"Oh, by the way, Sensei, how long will you be away this time?" Naruto asked curiously. His teacher would be serving as a jonin team leader, going to other ninja villages.
Honestly, Naruto was a bit scared.
