I loved watching this, but I was a little disappointed that you didn't make your own screws. :D
FrankHarr
I hope they work great.

Ever cut stainless steel using a saber saw? We went through close to 15 carbide blades cutting a few lengths of stainless piping. That sucked.

You end up with the tie rack or some such your 10 year old made.

What? No locktight on those screws? Where is the safety wire to make sure they stay torqued to the proper tolerance?

Aluminum. Stainless wouldn’t cut nearly so quickly on the bandsaw.
Doc Nickel
The bandsaw is not a precise tool. The edge it makes is rough, and even with guides, can make a less-than-straight cut. I mean, I *could* have just bandsawed it to shape and bolted it together, but that'd be like building a deck made out of lumber you chainsawed out of a tree. :)
You could save milling time, but you might end up wasting that time trying to set up for a bunch of perfect cuts.
Walter W Matera
Mine, too. You don't cut stainless, you wear it out.
Walter W Matera
It might, but then Doc would lose the delight in using his machinery.

Not particularly my field, but wouldn't it have saved a lot of milling time to precisely cut the metal square and to size?

Proof Doc's an artist and craftsman.
Patrick Hill
Very nice! Those will last you a lifetime.
Warren Schultz
Dunno, you think they’ll hold up to daily use? :D
Barbara Jex Courter
Having the right tools is good, but having the right tools in the right storage (secure & orderly) is good-er! I really enjoyed that - thanks for sharing Doc!
FrankHarr
I say it's pretty.
allanfranta
My quarter is on aluminum.
Walter W Matera
Stainless steel or aluminum?
Douglas Biggers
You say overbuilt, I say lovingly handcrafted. I say it's work to take pride in. oh, and not "focus you F#$%!"
Tigermark
Most of those I've seen tip over too easily. It's quite obvious that is NOT the case with these. Nice work!
