The Season of the Halberd
🕑 Added 2019-04-30 09:01:29 +0000 UTCI'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who bought some books during this last release- glad to see some new names in with all the familiar ones. :)
And of course plenty of you opted for a book sketch s well- I took scans of some of the better ones, and the above is one such image, cleaned up and colored. It's helpful to have a sort of "theme" for the sketches, as it can often be tough to come up with thirty or forty different poses. Last Christmas, I had the guys with old-fashioned plunger style detonators, this year it was halberds. :) I drew a lot of halberds.
Why halberds? Just 'cause it was funny. :) Next year I'll probably have to have everyone holding a "My Little Pony" doll or something. :D

I had requested Tawney for one of my books; her wielding a halberd made my day.

For that, you'd want the Stanley Tools 55-122 FuBar; at nearly 4 feet and 18 pounds, it will get you inside, even if it means going _through the wall_. :)

I'm just glad it wasn't a crowbar.

Give her one made "to scale".

Halberd: One of the most developed versions of the pole arm.

Not just *any* MLP - Has to be Rainbow Dash. ;)

Considering what's been blowing up my Facebook feed lately, I was kind of expecting a Game of Thrones reference I wouldn't get. (Not being snotty - I just don't have a legitimate way to watch it or the time to spend catching up). Thanks for going with something a bit more accessible. :)

Fair enough, but only because she needs one scaled down to a child's size and strength.

Because 10-year-old Kasi standing there self-importantly with an 8-foot-long polearm is inherently humorous. :D

I did wonder why Sandy had a halberd in my book :-)

I need to remember that for next book release. I know you've sometimes been grumpy with people who go all-out describing their character sketch they want (which prompted the "you get 3 words" commissions from a couple releases ago). So, I just went with "Jinx in one, Bandit in t'other." Now it'll definitely be, "Jinx with My Little Pony Doll" and "Bandit with My Little Pony Doll." :P

Good weapon for thrusting, slashing, and opening plate armor like a can of tuna. Plus it has an effective range that keeps you well away from the fight. Why should it be relegated to humor?
