It's not done yet, by any means, but I have the frame pretty much finished and got my PC set back up so I can get you all your daily dose of TWB. :D
The last major bits are mainly just the wood- I put the old desk's top sections back on just to be able to use it, while I sand, stain and Varathane the new pieces. You can see on the right there how much longer the new frame is over the old desk- and if you look close, you can see how I had to use some extra shelf section to stretch the deck to fit my graphics tablet (which was the main reason I started this project.

the diagonal brace in the middle looks like it could get in the way of your feet, but I know if that happens you can certainly fix it! Otherwise, it looks spectacular and should last forever!

I don't have any hard numbers, but I'd roughly guess... eighty hours, all told? And probably in the ballpark of a grand, counting everything down to the screws, new USB hubs and spray paint. But considering how much time I sit in front of this thing, and how long it should last, I figure it was worth both the time and cost.
I would be curious to know, if you care to share, approximately how many hours in the desk, and cost of materials.

Had to support your Patreon page, I find myself relating to Doc, probably more than is healthy.

Desk-forging at its finest.
Glad to see that it is coming together.

That one's not going to fall to bits anytime soon...
