Now, now, let's not rush things ... Doc already has three simultaneous story arcs in progress: Doc & Cara's 2nd date, Pirta's date night with Jake, and Swampy & Sandy moving in together. Even if it's acknowledged in-comic, Jinx's 12th birthday is probably 5 or 6 real-world-years in the future.
That's a story arc that really needs to be explored. "The day puberty hits Jinx" With role models like swampy, it could get really interesting.
