The trio moved through the aisles, Mr Williams leading the way with an air of practised confidence. Lucius and Narcissa followed closely, their elegant robes swishing behind them. As they approached the men's section, the display of finely crafted robes and accessories caught Lucius Malfoy's interest.
"Ah, excellent choices," Mr. Williams remarked, sensing the appreciation in Lucius's gaze. "We have a splendid collection of robes tailored to perfection. Allow me to showcase some of our finest pieces for you, my lord."
With that, he skillfully presented a variety of dress robes in rich fabrics and impeccable designs, detailing the unique features of each ensemble. Lucius listened attentively, nodding approvingly at some selections while offering a disdainful look to the others. "Here you go, my lord," said one of Mr. Williams' young assistants as he addressed Lucius in a respectful voice, handing him the shrunken bag containing his recent purchases. He then turned to Narcissa and asked her softly, "My dear, are you sure you don't want to look around? Perhaps buy something for yourself?"
Narcissa shook her head in response. "No, thank you, Lucius," she replied, giving her husband a small smile. "I don't need anything right now. I only just updated my whole wardrobe last month."
"Oh, very well then," Lucius nodded, accepting her reasoning. However, he then assumed an innocent look on his face as he casually asked her, "So, I suppose you must have bought a ball gown as well then?"
Narcissa's eyes narrowed slightly as she realized what her husband was subtly hinting at. She placed her hands on her hips before saying to him irritably, "Lucius, I've told you already that I'm not interested in going to the Ministry ball with you. How many times do I have to repeat myself to make that clear to you?"

"Minister Potter has personally invited us, darling. Don't you think he'd be offended if I attended the function where he is being honoured for his outstanding achievements without my wife?"

Her husband genuinely believed that the new Minister of Magic was his best friend simply because he had dealt with Tristan Greengrass for them. Both Narcissa and Lucius nodded to the shop owner politely before turning to leave. As they began heading towards the fireplace, the front door suddenly opened, and a rich voice came from behind them. "Lucius, is that you, my good man?"
Narcissa spun around as she recognized the sound of the voice, freezing in shock as none other than the Minister of Magic, Harry Potter, stepped inside the shop, followed closely behind by two of his security personnel. Lucius explained the reason behind his visit to Mr Williams' shop. Minister Potter listened to him attentively before turning to Narcissa, "And have you also chosen a dress for yourself, Lady Malfoy?"
Narcissa snapped out of her daze as Minister Potter addressed her. However, before she could give him a reply, Lucius butt in, "No, she hasn't, Minister Potter," he told the younger wizard in a frustrated voice, "Apparently, my wife has decided that she doesn't need a new dress as she isn't going to attend the gala next week. I've tried dozens of times to change her mind but she doesn't listen to me."
Narcissa decided she was going to curse Lucius for disclosing that information to the Minister. However, before she could do that, she found herself like a deer in headlights as Minister Potter began walking towards her. He came to a stop in front of her and looked down at her with his emerald green eyes, "My lady, why are you not coming to my award ceremony?" he asked her softly before continuing, "Do you not like me? I thought we enjoyed each other's company that night. But I guess I was wrong. Still, I hope you'll come to the gala next week. It would make me very happy to have you there."

Narcissa opened her mouth to object, but he cut her off, adding, "I know you said that you already have plenty of dresses, Cissy, but you should still buy a couple of new ones to make sure you have enough options."
In the end, Narcissa had no other choice left, she gave Lucius a tired nod and went to choose a dress for herself. After selecting a couple of expensive dresses from the women's section, she headed towards the Ladies' dressing room to try them out.
Narcissa entered the changing room and closed the door behind her. After hanging the dresses on a peg on the wall, she began unzipping her blue robes from behind.
