The Daycare Worker

It was his first day on the job, one he didn’t realistically deserve but the kind lady had decided to give him a shot. She was friends with his mother and knew how desperately he needed work. Also how important it was to get him out of the house and give his mum some well-earned time to herself. Normally he would be sticking to his games always getting carried away and boisterous she would constantly have to be knocking on his door and asking him to keep it down. Laura was doing quite well for herself with the day care; she could afford to keep him on for a few days a week even if he wasn’t quite qualified. She was sure she could give him the required on the job training, it might be a bit tricky at first but he would get the hang of it.
This wasn’t a great start though, he had slept through his alarm, it wasn’t until his mother came in that Jean quickly got dressed and bolted out the door. Thankfully Laura wasn’t understaffed, he was basically an addition to the roster it would be some time before she felt he was qualified enough to rely on him. The apologetic young man shuffled inside and into the bustling day care. Dozens of eyes turned to his direction and he followed Laura awkwardly over to her desk, as another worker fought to regain their attention.
“Well now that you’re finally here I guess we’ll quickly go over the particulars.”
Laura spent some time giving him a run down over her expectancies of him, along with the importance of arriving to work on time. Jean was rather humiliated he felt like she was scolding him like a child. He didn’t dare question her attitude with him, he felt stupid for arriving late on his first day. The talk was rather extensive it was quite overwhelming, all the particulars and details she was going into. He wasn’t sure how much of it was actually sticking; thankfully she had the employee hand book to give him. Finally they were finished with the tour and she sent him off to go help the charges with their crafts.
“Do I get a uniform?” Jean asked, referring to the olive green polo and navy shorts the employees were sporting.
Laura thought for a moment before shaking her head.
“No I don’t think so, we can leave that till tomorrow, and you’ve already put me behind enough today.”
She wondered off leaving Jean feeling rather out of place, it didn’t get past him that he looked more like a charge dressed in his casual clothes and hoped the charges wouldn’t give him any grief. He wondered over to the group getting curious glances, the first thing he was asked quickly gave weight to his fears.
“Aren’t you supposed to be a big boy why are you in daycare?”
He barely sputtered out that he worked there and hadn’t gotten his uniform yet. It seemed no one at his table believed him even the other employee who overheard laughed at his expense. He looked to her signalling for some backup.
“Now don’t tease Jean everybody he’s knew here and we want to make sure we give him a warm welcome.”
It wasn’t exactly what he was hoping for, especially since the woman didn’t mention that he does indeed work here. He felt like she intentionally left that part out and it seemed he was getting some ribbing for being the new guy. Unbeknownst to him all the staff had been briefed prior to his arrival that he was basically hired as a favour wouldn’t be taking any of their hours away but to be aware that he was in need of a lot of help. It put them off a bit that this unqualified youngster was been giving a position that they had all worked hard to achieve. They held nothing against Laura but they weren’t going to be sticking their neck out for him. They all held high hopes that he wouldn’t be able to cut it and would be gone by the end of the week.
Jean actually got settled in quite quickly, he was actually enjoying himself, and it all felt quite fulfilling that he was getting paid to be here. He spent the next couple of hours doing crafts, joining in and making his own while he offered assistance. It did bother him that when they needed the bathroom or help with something else they ignored him and went straight to one of the other workers. He still thought they believed he was just one of them. Not long after finishing his pipe cleaner and Styrofoam cup man all the charges were lead off to use the bathroom before lunch. It was about that time that he realised he hadn’t actually gone himself since before going to bed. He apprehensively walked over to Laura and asked where the staff bathroom was.
“You can use that one.”
She pointed toward the growing line for the kids toilets.
“Wait why can’t I use the staff bathroom?” He asked feeling quite flustered.
Laura sighed. “Because to be quite honest Jean I’m not sure if I’m quite ready to trust you with staff privileges today, you did arrive late it was rather disappointing after I put my faith in you for the job.”
Jean shifted foot to foot, being told he couldn’t use the bathroom coupled with all the reminders of him really needing to wee, he was getting rather desperate.
“I understand Laura I really am sorry, but I can’t hold it that long.” He said gesturing toward the big group still waiting their turn.
“Alright I guess, follow me.”
Jean rather enthusiastically followed along; one hand had timidly lingered down and was now pressed firmly over his groin. One of the other workers pointed his potty dance out to the rest and they all chuckled at the sight. Jean hadn’t noticed he was too determined on making it to the bathroom in time. He figured she was leading him down the hall toward the staff room but she took a detour and walked over to a storage cupboard, pulling out a child’s plastic potty. She placed it on the carpet and gestured for him to sit.
“You can’t be serious?” He was flabbergasted.
“Jean.” She said plainly and sternly.
She looked at him expectantly and realising he didn’t have much choice he timidly lowered his pants and sat down on the potty. The flow started instantly, he hadn’t realised how desperate he was, and it took him a moment to get over the shock and sit perfectly upright on the undersized potty. He managed to splash some pee over his trousers in the process, he sat glued to the seat until his stream finally came to a halt. The whole time he was under Laura’s watchful gaze, she retrieved some wipes and standing him up she wiped over his genitals much to his shame.
This can’t actually have happened, it isn’t real…… Jean thought to himself desperately wishing this was just a nightmare he could wake up from. Laura made him step out of his wet clothes, now he was nude before her from the waist down. He gulped and blushed, using all his mental strength to stop from crying when she pulled a package of pull ups from the cupboard and unfurled one in front of him.
“I think maybe you aren’t ready to be working here Jean.” She knelt down holding the pull up open before him.
He timidly stepped in and she pulled them up his legs making sure it was firm and tight around his waistline.
“You can prove to me first that you are a well behaved student, and then maybe when I think you’re ready we can look at a position here for you again.”
Jean really couldn’t believe what he was hearing, but what choice did he have.
“But don’t worry; you will still be paid for each day you’re here. Of course we will have to deduct expenses since you’ll now be under our care and I imagine you will be using your fair share of these.”
She gave his pull up a firm pat on the front.
“If you start coming here Monday to Friday, it will leave you with a nice little allowance at the end of each week, just think of this as an internship.”
Jean sniffled, but he nodded bashfully. He was stuck here for the long term, he was too afraid to say no, he just naturally submitted to everything. Laura lead him by hand back to the main room with everyone else, no mention about getting him a change of pants but she did bring up how she would need to be having a conversation with his mother. So much for starting a new career, hopefully Laura and the others wouldn’t keep him like this for too long.
