Summer at Aunties - Chapter 24
🕑 Added 2021-06-08 02:52:47 +0000 UTCJan led the sobbing boy quickly past everyone and ushered him onto the change table. Right over in the corner of the room it offered him little privacy, thankfully everyone too young to really give him any attention. The other two attends helping in Jan’s room couldn’t help glancing over from time to time.
“Pee yew, you certainly did a number on this one.”
Jan waved at the smell fighting the compulsion to hold her nose. Marvin kept blubbering so Jan grabbed a spare pacifier from her pocket and shoved it in his mouth. He took to it instantly; it was like a missing piece returning to him back from his childhood. The pacifier bobbed in and out rhythmically as he suckled away, tears still lightly dripping down his cheeks. With all her years of experience of changing dirty diapers even Jan couldn’t help but grimace and step back after pulling Marvin’s diapered front down.
Marvin had to lay there and endure it; he was in that moment thankful that someone was doing it for him. His sobbing had mostly come to a stop except for the occasional sniffle.
“See it’s not so bad, we’ll get you back into a clean diaper in a jiffy.” Jan said hopefully.
She quickly dumped the oversized diaper into the pale to the side, the disposable pad under his bottom was the only line of defence against his filthy bum and the tables padded surface. Jan worked quickly as if she was under pressure to prevent a bigger clean up. She used a bunch of wipes to clean off the mess still sticking to him; Marvin winced as he felt an invasive cloth covered finger go right up his hole.
“Gotta make sure we get all the mess hun.” Jan assured him.
Marvin was locked in a trance, he was completely complacent as Jan made him raise and lower his bottom onto a fresh diaper. He hadn’t paid much mind to it but this diaper was definitely thicker than the previous one.
Jan smiled watching at Marvin wiggle his bottom down onto the new diaper.
“This is the thickest they make hun, if this one doesn’t work then we might need to go with cloth.”
Cloth diapers, at least they wouldn’t crinkle, but could they really be thicker than this one? Jan swiftly coated his privates in baby oil, taking extra care to rub it in before dusting him with a thick coat of baby powder. The smell was so invasive and strong but Marvin didn’t really mind it. It was an unusual aroma but one that was definitely better than the smell of his stinky diaper. Jan raised the front up and pulled the four tapes on firmly, sealing the much thicker diaper to Marvin’s body. She gave it a gentle tug and made sure the leg guards were in place.
“Not to tight love?” She asked gently.
Marvin shook his head.
Jan smiled and tickled him; Marvin couldn’t help but let out a babyish giggle as she poked his sides.
“There’s my smiley baby, see no more tears?”
Marvin couldn’t help but feel the pleasant warmth that he did when he was around Jan. After being left with May there was no comparison to which he preferred the company of. Even if she was treating him like an infant at least she wasn’t being horrible to him. Jan pulled him upright as another attendant wandered over and passed her a bottle. She thanked her before handing it to Marvin who eagerly replaced it with his pacifier and started sucking.
“Don’t worry hun, you’re much better off here with the other babies, you just weren’t ready to be a big boy yet.”
It was hard to argue with her point; in fact it was actually impossible after everything that had happened. He thought about telling Jan what happened with May but the warm milk was having a profane calming effect on him and he thought better of it. Besides there was no telling what May might do in retaliation and if Jan would even believe him in the first place. He scanned over the nursery and started to fully realise how much more infantile this room was to the rest. He looked down and poked his thick babyish diaper; he really did belong here didn’t he. There was a small panicky feeling washing over him as he fully realised his predicament. But all he had to do was give one look at Jan who smiled so warmly at him and it completely went away.
She waited patiently for him to finish his bottle before replacing it with his pacifier.
“Alright sweet heart, I think it’s time for you to take a nap.”
Marvin didn’t object, the thought of sleep actually sounded quite blissful. He sucked on his soother and clung to her arm tightly as she brought him over to the row of cribs on one side of the room. The lights had been turned off on this side to keep things quieter. She lowered the gate and Marvin had to tuck his legs in to really be able to fit properly inside.
“I know it’s a bit cramped baby I’m sorry, we’ll look into getting something bigger for next time.”
Next time, was there really going to be a next time. He had never really thought about it, he just assumed this was going to be a onetime thing. His Aunt would be back for him soon right, was she really planning on bringing him here again, was there something she hadn’t told him?
Jan pulled the covers and tucked him in tightly. She turned on the mobile above the crib and it started playing the sweetest lullaby.
“It doesn’t get too noisy in here we just use these cribs for naps. If you can’t relax I can take you into the quiet room but I have a feeling you won’t have a problem. You can’t even seem to keep your eyes fully open.”
Jan was right, it wasn’t even very far into the day and Marvin felt completely drained. This whole ordeal had been so mentally taxing for him; it was no wonder that he was able to fall asleep so easily. His eyes shut and he drifted quickly off to dreamland, feeling Jan softly kiss him goodnight as the lullaby chimed away overhead.
