Her New Years
🕑 Added 2021-01-30 12:16:01 +0000 UTC“Jenny, honey we need to have a talk, do you mind if I come in.” Monica asked her eldest daughter.
“Ahh, sure mum what’s up.” She replied hesitantly.
Monica lightly crept into her daughters bedroom, screwing her face up in distaste for the way she had haphazardly discarded her dirty laundry all over the room. She had had multiple conversations about the state of cleanliness that was her bedroom but it always ended in an argument. Taking in a whiff she twisted her upturned nose in disgust at the old crusty piece of toast still sitting on the plate atop the beside table. As she tiptoed across the room Monica lightly brushed the end of the bed spread before taking a seat on the edge of the bed. She turned to face her daughter who had remained glued to her computer screen, unfazed and uninterested by her presence.
“Soooo.” Monica took a breath, she had to brace her self in an attempt to refrain from mentioning the mess, clutching her fists hard against her knee she steadied herself. This wasn’t the time for another argument, she already faced one with the news she was about to spring on her she didn’t want to lambast her a second time this night.
“It’s about New Years…”
“Mum, it’s fine you don’t need to worry about me I already said I wasn’t going out this year, I know you don’t like me going out drinking.” Jenny replied brushing her mum away with the wave of her hand.
“Yes I know sweetheart, I haven’t forgotten.” Monica said, uncomfortably scanning the messy room with her eyes she was worried what she might find.
“Then what’s this about.” Jenny said impatiently, spinning on her desk chair to face her mother with a huff.
Monica paused for a moment, stumbling around internally as she tried to think up the right words to proceed the conversation.
Jenny sighed, turning back around to face her laptop she shook her head. “Can you just spit it out I need to get this application submitted.”
“I know and I’m so proud of you for how hard you’re trying to find a job, this will take a moment but it’s important.” Monica said with pride inching closer to her daughter.
“It’s about….. your issues with thunder.”
Jenny paused in the middle of the sentence she was typing out, was she really about to bring this up now. She absolutely hated this talk it wasn’t the first time she had heard it.
“There’s not going to BE any thunder, haven’t you seen the weather report, all you do is watch the news.”
Monica quickly grew agitated at her daughters quip, she was a college graduate and still had threw tantrums like a teenager still going through puberty. Yes she was trying to at least find a job, but she refused to take up any opportunity that would present it self. She had her heart set on finding herself in a career that would utilise her degree, rationalising any other form of work as demeaning and beneath her qualifications.
Monica hated having this talk with her daughter almost as much as she hated being on the receiving end. It wouldn’t be so bad if she didn’t put up such a fight, they especially got more vocal as she got older. But in the end Monica always got her way and as she got older at least she had more to threaten her with. It shouldn’t be something to boast about, having to threaten her own adult daughter but living rent free at what was essentially a twenty-four seven bed and breakfast she didn’t want to end up in some dive living off government support.
“i know I’ve seen the weather, it’s the fireworks.” Monica said trying to sound sympathetic.
Jenny scoffed, shutting her eyes hard she tried imagine herself being anywhere then here having this conversation with her mother. She knew what it was about and she knew where it was heading. It was a conversation she found herself having multiple times a year now, especially with how accurate the weather reports were now. She could swear that her mother had the bureau of meteorology booked mark on her computer, with how often she would come to her at the first sign of possible thunder.
She wet herself, like clockwork every single bloody time there was thunder. It was almost like a reflex something that came second nature, like riding a bike somehow her bladder knew that as soon as their was thunder it was time to relive herself. It didn’t even scare her that badly, but for some reason at night especially she would wake up in sweats and a wet bed. Well no longer a wet bed, but a wet pair of thirsty undergarments that would be wrapped tightly around her. If that wasn’t bad enough last year the fire works had set it off she had spent that year home too and when she went to bed seeing no reason to stay up to see off the year instead she greeted the next with wet bed sheets and pyjama pants that clung tightly to her.
It had almost become a reaction at this point, it wasn’t worth fighting her mother about. Especially if she wanted to try finish off her application before she went to bed tonight. Taking a quick glance at the time on her computer screen it was still several hours till the count down, but her mother wasn’t going to take the chance, ensuring her daughter was safely protected before she headed off to bed. There were no words spoken, none needed to be, Jenny nodded and stood up from her computer planting her feet on the carpet in front of her mother stood straight at attention like any model soldier. Her mother smiled at her compliance, she quickly pulled the pink pull up she had tucked away beneath her dressing gown out of sight of her daughter.
With practiced precision she undressed Jenny completely leaving her standing in the nude, her hands hanging limply at her sides. She was so practiced with shown her mother her nudity that she wouldn’t even bother covering herself anymore. The quicker this was over with the better. Obediently she stepped into the waiting pull up as it was held open before her. It was pulled up her shapely legs and snapped tightly against her bottom. Monica fiddled with the cuffs for a moment before spinning her daughter around and giving her a playful pat on the bottom.
“Come down and watch some television with me, you can clean your room tomorrow.” Monica smiled as she gently hugged her limp daughter.
Jenny nodded before taking her mothers hand as she led her out of the bedroom, away from her computer and application that would not have any chance to be sent in by the deadline now. She wasn’t allowed to wear clothes when she was in her pull ups so her mother could check her whenever she felt the need. Her mother loved these moments with her daughter, she was always so placid and agreeable when she was in her pull ups. So needy and clingy, maybe she would find an excuse to keep her in them tomorrow. After all it was New Years, maybe her resolution would be to keep her daughter in pull ups full time. She smiled as she pulled her bedroom door closed behind them, the application could wait she was in no hurry for her daughter to get a job and be independent she would always be her little girl.
