Still the Little Sister

It wasn’t a particular dislike for the holiday that she harboured her ill will for, rather the fact that it meant her sister and her family would be visiting. She didn’t hate her sister but it was just another reminder that she wasn’t hitting the milestones she felt like she ought to be at her age. Now in her mid-twenties she thought she would have been well on her way in her career by now. The college degree in her pocket feeling like a silly nuance rather than the Holy Grail it promised to be. Struggling to get into her field she was left fending for herself amongst the other job seekers on unemployment.
Anything would have done really, just something with consistent hours and a liveable wage. She never thought her degree would have reflected poorly on her; ‘overqualified’ was the term she was met with constantly during her interviews. What was it even supposed to mean, she had heard it enough times by this point she thought she might have more clarity on it. She tried dropping any mention of it all together from her resume, but that just raised even more questions as to how she spent her time after graduating high school. She felt trapped, so here she was still at home and living with her parents.
Her sisters pop ins were constant reminders how she was lagging behind her older sisters footsteps. A psychology major with a full time blossoming career in her own practice, the husband she recently married and now her own child less who was about to experience her first Easter. She didn’t know why they were all making such a big deal over it; it wasn’t like she was going to remember the stupid day anyway. The loud chiming of the doorbell broke her train of thought; she listened as her sisters family all entered into the living room exchanging greetings with her parents.
“Better get this over with.” Melissa sighed, speaking out loud to her empty bedroom.
She shambled her way down the hallway stopping at the entry to the living room, taking a moment to pump herself up and putting a fake smile on her face before making her grand entrance.
“Hey everybody.” She said trying to the room, trying to feign a degree of excitement.
“Baby sis, it’s so good to see you.” Jessica said, walking over and giving her a hug.
As Melissa found herself smothered into her sister’s bosom, she was reminded of the stellar height difference between the two of them. Not to mention the fact that the first words out of her mouth were condescending and calling her a baby. This was going to be a long day she thought as her sister released her. Her husband Derek gave Melissa a similar greeting, both of them were such lovely people if only her sister treated her as an equal, instead of a child.
She found herself in the middle of the conversation; thankfully she was more of a sidelined topic for her family as most of the attention was on her niece. She even had the chance to hold her, but her Jessica’s mention of how excited she will be to grow up having a big sister just like her instead of an Auntie put a bit of a dampener on the experience. The lunch went by rather pleasantly and quickly which was a welcomed reprieve. Melissa helped herself to her share of the wine, brushing off her mother’s remarks to slow down. After being changed, Jessica brought her daughter down revealing the adorable Easter onesie she had made for her, complete with a bunny hood and poffy tuft of white fur above the bottom for the tail.
It was rather adorable even Melissa found herself fawning over it; maybe it was the drinks that had lightened her up. It wasn’t until her sister pulled out the next item of clothing from her bag that things took a bad turn.
“Ta-da, isn’t it adorable Melissa, you will look great in it.”
Melissa stared on in disbelief, surely she wasn’t being serious. It was identical to the other one except in a much larger size for her.
“Ummm, I’m not wearing that.” She scoffed.
After a few minutes of pleading and encouraging remarks from her family, followed by mentions of her not being a spoil sport she relented, snatching the outfit from her sisters hands she marched off to her room in a huff. She briefly heard a mention for her to just get changed in their but she refused to expose herself to that situation. Ensuring the door was shut firmly behind her she took a better look at the onesie. It even had metal snaps at the bottom to make it easier for changing a diaper. Why the fuck would her sister include that, she took a cautionary glance towards her dresser, gulping as if she could sense what lurked inside. Pull ups, she hadn’t worn them in a year and it was only ever for bedwetting but her mother insisted on not throwing them out in case she had a relapse.
Unsure what had provoked it, perhaps the stress from looking for work and the pressure she was putting on herself. Luckily it had subsided after taking medication and watching her bathroom habits before bedtime. Her parents didn’t approve, especially her mother, instead wanting her to let it pass naturally. She could almost swear that they wanted her to keep wetting the bed. Plus the pull ups, the ultra girly princess ones her mother insisted on buying for her. She said they were more economical and were just the right thickness to hold in her night time leaks.
Finally Melissa shook out of her state, undressing down to her panties and bra she was about to slide the outfit over her head when her sister walked in. After shouting at her to get out, one stern talking to later and a firm slap on her behind she found herself sulking as she was forced to step into one of her pull ups before the onesie was pulled down her and snapped tight over her crotch. The bulge was small but the crinkle was loud enough that her family would surely notice. She was about to be dragged into the living room when she suddenly felt the wine settling into her bladder ready for release.
“Wait.” She begged. “I have to pee.”
“Well there’s no time for that now, everyone’s been waiting long enough, don’t worry you have your pullup on if you can’t hold it I can change you.” Jessica stated calmly.
Her family acted as if this was nothing out of the ordinary, an adult woman being paraded around having cute Easter themed photos taken with her niece. They blantantly ignored her pleas for the bathroom and her obvious potty dance, telling her just one more, one more photo then we will be done. But they kept coming till eventually the room grew silent, everyone’s eyes fixated on the pee streaming down her legs through the overflowing pull up, the onesie not offering any sort of barrier.
“Don’t worry.” Jessica started. “They have bigger diapers at the shop I go to, it’s not too far from my place I can take her and go pick some up and bring her back after the weekend.”
That’s how Melissa found herself given no time to change into dry clothing sitting in the back seat of her sister’s car with her family, a towel over the seat preventing any wetness seeping through. She watched her parent’s wave goodbye, realising she had no clothes of her own it seemed like she would be sitting around in her new diapers until her sister decided to bring her home.
