“Hey sweetheart, oh no what happened? I thought you told me that the bullying had stopped? You’re in college now; you’re supposed to be adults their how come you keep getting into fights with everyone? No, I don’t think you can only blame them, they may be the ones picking on you in the first place but I told you the super easy solution didn’t I. Yes, talk to your teachers or your ‘professors’ even go to the headmaster if you have to. I know this isn’t middle school anymore but you’re still getting bullied and the answer to that has been go talk to a teacher.
Yes I am getting frustrated with you, why? Because you told me not to get involved and you will handle it yourself since you’re so ‘grown up’ but so far you haven’t done anything. How are you supposed to pass school if you’re too terrified to go. Oh please, you’re my little angel I know that you aren’t fighting back so don’t give me any of that ‘oh well you should see how they look’ nonsense. I know you; I can see your puffy eyes from all the crying you do after they torment you. You’re my special baby, but you want to be treated like an adult so I can’t do anything to help you I’m afraid. As soon as you realise you aren’t as grown up as you think you are, come to me and I will handle everything for you ok? But one more slip up, or if this gets any worse or I see you come home with more bruises then I won’t wait for you to ask me, I’ll be taking matters into my own hands.”
“Baby, what’s wrong? Your shirts ripped… You loved that top too, I told you to come to me before anything happened again. It’s barely been a week since we last spoke about this. Are you wet, my goodness you are. Don’t try to hide the stain, I know you didn’t slip; those streaks only come from having an accident. I think I’ve been doing this all wrong my baby boy, you wanted so badly to be a grown up to think that you were ready to handle these situations by yourself that I didn’t get involved. I tried to appease you, help toughen you up so that you would take care of it like you truly believed you were capable of. But seeing you coming home with torn clothing, wet pants and bawling your eyes out, I think we both know the truth don’t we?
You’re just not ready to take the reins just yet; life can be tough and unfair especially for little boys as gentle and sweet as you. You still need me, you may not be thinking it right now or want to believe it but deep down you know it’s true. Age is just a number, I know because you’re old enough to go out drinking and drive a car you think you’re grown up, but some boys just never do. You still need your mommy in your life and in a bigger way too. I will take care of everything ok? Shhh…Shhh dry those tears, come give me a cuddle. There. There…. Let it all out, I know life’s been tough on you. Perhaps we will take you out of school for a while and find you somewhere else to start fresh. But only once I think you’re ready for another go at it. I’m not sure how long that will be, perhaps you might never be ready. I guess we will see won’t we.”
“Morning baby, I hope you had a good sleep. It’s so nice walking into your nursery, believe it or not the stale smell of pee from your diaper pail mixed in with baby powder is actually more pleasant then what it used to smell like. My word that is a saturated diaper hanging from your hips we definitely need to get you changed mister, I’ll put your rails down and you can hop up onto your changing table. I know you like to lounge around in your wet diapers but that one’s practically about to burst. I’m sure the one I’m about to tape you in will be drenched in no time you little fountain.
It’s only been a few weeks since we hit the reset button on your life, taking you out of school and giving you no more responsibilities then what a baby would have. Can you even feel yourself tinkle anymore? Hmmm, I know you think you can but can you tell that you’re dribbling right now while I’m changing you? That’s what I thought, its ok you were always bound to lose any control you have. I wouldn’t stress to much on it, if and when you’re ready we can just go through toilet training you again. But don’t worry, a potty and pull ups are definitely not in your near future, we still have a lot of nurturing and coddling time for my baby before I’ll let you grow up again. Hey, I’m not keeping you from seeing your friends, they can come over any time they want to. We need a babysitter anyway, I have to get out of the house sometime and since you’re too afraid to leave the house I can’t just leave a baby home alone can I. You just need to realise that your bullies can’t hurt you anymore, you have your mommy to protect you now, my sweet sweet baby.”
