Patreon is having some difficulties
🕑 Added 2018-08-02 16:41:37 +0000 UTC Hey everyone. This month, Patreon had some issues doing the payment processing, and roughly 20-25% of all patrons across the site had their payments declined even if their payments had worked properly in the past.
At the moment, there is still a lot of speculation going on about the reasons why, but since Patreon hasn't made a statement about it yet, nothing is really confirmed.
If you find that you suddenly cannot access patron-only posts, then that would be why. Some people are saying that they are having success with just clicking to retry their payment, so that would probably be a good first step to try. Others are saying that they needed to call their bank, due to the bank blocking it as potential fraud.
Not sure what else I can add at this point. Until Patreon makes a public statement about the issues, it's going to mostly be a lot of theorizing and speculation going around, so it's hard to say what is fact and what isn't.
Edit: Patreon just put out a statement on the issue. https://twitter.com/Patreon/status/1025071287020871680

Glad to hear that was able to fix it. browser compatibility can be finicky it seems.

Yeah running the site in a different browser fixed it

sorry to hear that. Maybe you can try using a different browser? Patreon did some tweaks to the site's design so they might have broken something for your browser.

I still can't seem to open my settings to update my payment method. It's a tad frustrating.

I didn't have to do anything.

I had to tell my bank that patreon was an authorized payment and that I was the one that did it.
