They have some superficial similarity in that that they are 1 hit point. However, they are resources/tools for players and not monsters that the PCs face, so they're kinda outside the idea of creating "a crowd of adversaries."

Informative as always! As you were talking about minions I was wondering whether the thralls that they’ve playtested for the necromancer were anything similar? I’ve not really looked into those playtest rules…
