During one of the meetings we discussed fetishes and one woman listed certain things she would never consider trying. The other women all agreed and added to the conversation things like “oh yeah, I would never do that” or “I think that’s degrading” or “I don’t understand how people like that.”
Then there was me, like… 😳
I almost joined in with “oh, yeah, sure… same for me.” But instead I was honest and explained certain things that I’ve tried and enjoy and why I like those things. Everyone was quiet and listening intently. I felt like the judgement in the room calmed and it was a great opportunity for the other women to open their minds a bit and challenge their preconceived ideas about what is “bad” and “good” in caring, consenting adult relationships and sexual experiences.
Anyhow… it was nice to feel like I did some good in that group. 😆

Product of that culture, as well (was the waiting til marriage guy 🤦🏼♂️). It’s been a long road to understanding the hopeless romantic, raised by a mom and two sisters, mindset does not at all have to conflict with a healthy openmindedness in this room of the psyche.
