Well fuck, that was pretty hardcore. It's kind of sad that Isobel just keeps burning the one bridge she needs to cross. As jaded and selfish as Liadain is, she really is willing to help Isobel. Literally all she wants in return is an olive branch, a show of faith, a reassurance that Isobel intends to actually TALK. Yet her own hatred and Syancauri's meddling keeps getting in the way. Isobel wasn't even willing to talk to her best friend that literally can't lie. Honestly, the biggest difference I see between Isobel and Liadain is that Liadain is willing and able to set aside her grudges for the sake of achieving her goals.
