I thought the same. The way it mentioned sounds like Bang is beating the sh*t outnof MC but the underlying scene is more like Bang is helping MC in shaping him into a better character than knows when to be merciful and when to be brutal. If MC perfected this then it would be a great impact to his power and his DOA as well.

Yeah, I agree to reread this chapter besides the General's amusement I do think he is genuinely fond of Liu Jin in his own twisted way. Because I think more than just being his son he see's something of the Black Dragon (the only man he ever respected) inside Liu Jin. It's very much something he wants to bring out, and more than happy to do so this whole situation is very much going to push and test Liu Jin as a person. Oh man... now I'm thinking of this whole situation as Murong Bang's demented version of "Tough Love" for Liu Jin.

Blahful

So Dan sent Jin to Bang to protect him, and essentially shelter and harden Jin so that he grows up? And Bang is making sure that Jin grows up while being out of the fight where he would face actual threats. Seems like Jin found 2 uncles.

He's at a level where he has passive regeneration now. Apparently it's pretty quick. Reminds me of Xiao Nan talking after his jaw got broken way back when. You are right that it would probably be good to have something in the chapter to hint at the regeneration though. Make it a bit more explicit so there's less chance for confusion.

Gardor

He talks with an unhinged, broken jaw?

It's fun to see Lui Jin being disciple bait bite him. He's consistently had powerful cultivators take interest in him, and usually this has been a good thing. The Patriarch finds his insubordination cute, Elder Xue pushes his agenda etc. Sure there are reasons, and in many cases it feels earned, but it's kind of nice for the other shoe to drop. He's got Murangs interest. Honestly I'd say Murang quite likes him. And clearly he wants to leave his mark on Jin by teaching him his philosophy. In this case Jin gets all the downsides of drawing the attention of someone who can destroy your life on a whim, showing even when they like you that kind of power imbalance can screw you six ways to sunday, and I love to see it.

Leave Hundred-Man commander and return as Ten-Hundred-Man commander.

"Physical eloquence" I love this phrase.

Probably because the best way for them to grow is to raise rivals that are opposed to them. That way they can grow through the challenges that said rivals provide.

Silverias

It seems like there's a class of cultivator that, approaching the divine, APPRECIATE defiance. It's like they are actively seeking challenges to their doctrine and have a desire to increase independence in weaker cultivators.

Poor Lei Kong, he's already in trouble with one wife, trying to defend his lord, imagine how he'll suffer when there's 6 of them. To be loyal is a cruel fate.

It could also be some of the royal family. Since they're the people who couldn't save themselves from the rats

Gamer Doyle

Now this is interesting. Given Murong Bang's way of governing, I think you might substitute bandit with rebel.

Robert Mullins

Lei Kong's IQ increased by 10 points at the exact moment he realized he should shut up and let them argue between themselves.
