Should: Lu Mei would die. Ten and the others who came because of him would die. be: Lu Mei would die. Bai Wen and the others who came because of him would die.

Liu Jin was barely inferior when Han's dao was in working order. Now? When Liu Jin is rested and Han is deteriorating?

Derek Walker

What are the odds he fights Han in that arena? In his current state, he likely stands no chance… And do we think Liu Jin secretly advanced to peak of true realm before leaving?

burning_the_paper

Could be Murong Bang's Dao affecting Liu Jin (and everyone else too), or it could be a calculated move by Liu Jin (unlikely), or it's simply Liu Jin being unable to stand by and tolerate such blatant cruelty.

burning_the_paper

This is just the warmup, Liu Jin has yet to reach the levels of recklessness he displayed in the Dead Plains. I still find it funny that Lu Mei has pretty much missed every instance of Liu Jin reminding people why he's scary.

The Black Dragon wouldn’t have stood for it. Cruel, but a leader. Murong has already seen Liu Jin’s face, maybe could even recognise who he is with his spiritual sense when neenterrd the city. Liu Jin has just proved he is his father’s son, a cultivator replaces the will of heaven with his own will. How can a true cultivator not challenge the will of a cultivator then? The black dragon got the three heavenly generals on one team. Liu Jin will do the same.

Great chapter! It tastes like bitter irony that the Black Dragon's worst crime seems to have been abandoning his responsibility, to deprive the Dragon Empire's people of the peace that could have followed his terrible and bloody conquest. The master thought his only disciple's self-mutilation stupid, brash and arrogant, which it surely was, considering the political consequences for the Dragon Empire and all the people he could have helped as an powerful physician wielding qi. But as one of the oldest emperors in existence, the master's perspective on a couple decades of war and suffering, compared to his student's immortal future, might have been rather skewed. We see Murong Bang indulging in purposeless slaughter and empty cruelty following his Dao onto the darkest of paths. Maybe the Black Dragon felt, he needed to break free of the monster within, abandon the hunger for blood, revenge and war he had nurtured during his conquest of the empire. That to stop following his former Dao path, he had to destroy his cultivation entirely. His reign would have never descended into Murong Bang's barbarism, but instead of peace there might have been ever escalating wars right into another continent wide calamity. Only living among and as one of the powerless mortals, after finding love and losing her tragically, becoming a father to Liu Jin and humbly treating patients, did he truly grow into the kind and caring man Liu Jin remembers.

"Yes, I can see why Dan sent you to me." This stands out. Yes, I can see that you weren't sent here just for your parentage.

This was a fun chapter, but I never believe the trope of "who did that, wait it's me." Especially here where it's gradual and he's confused who moved into the arena, when it's him. But generally he's pretty reckless here, maybe it's a murong emperor aura effect?

Gamer Doyle

Welp this is interesting, Liu Jin has now been kinder than anyone. Now he has to be crueler than anyone. Han it has been nice knowing you, not really; because I just don't like you.

Nathan Thompson

Loved this.

Where is Lu Mei in this scene? I thought the whole point of the villainess wanting to come, was to witness him being heroic?

Thewizzardpineapple

Liu Jin looked him dead in the eye and went “Senior, YOU DARE?!”, and that’s why we love him.

Hunter8k

I approve of posting it tomorrow

I reckon they know when a young monster greets them and indulge in it's whimsies

Liu "Old monsters find me amusing" Jin strikes again.

Valerian

That was a test passed. Moroung Bang knew this spectacle would be offensive to whoever came. But the determining factor was how they would respond. Liu Jin threw all caution to the wind and challenged the crowd and Muroung in one fell swoop. That is what pleased the general, someone having the spine to do so.

Robert Mullins

Yeah, it was a very hard shift. Could have a little lead up. Even if it's just another paragraph stating the trip across the empire went as planned.

Sam Oppy

Yes Jin! Stand up for what is right!

Archit Goel

great chapter, loved the writing!

CHoobler

While this is good I feel like it almost skipped a chapter
