Logan Teague

The Black Storm Dragon wasn't the worst person in history. Lei Kong, native of the Storm Dragon Empire, said he may have been terrifying, but he stabilized the Empire. It was only after he left that everything went to Hell

Igolnik

A bit of a nitpick but if he has 100 soldiers split into 5 groups then there should only be 20 soldiers in each group, not 25.

sapassde .

I am not so sure people would believe Murong Bang that readily about who Liu Jin's father is, simply because while he is incredibly scary to people the Black Storm Dragon is beyond that and I imagine everyone would be just confused and would not believe it at all if Murong Bang said this random person is the son of, as far as they know, the worst person in history. And while this doesn't have to do with this comment I believe the Liu family reunion is a complete coincidence and that Murong Bang neither cares that much to know of them nor would he care to plan for Liu Jin to meet them if he knew anyway.

Robert Davidson

They didn't do it on purpose, most likely.

Red Potato

Also depending on the novel, snakes can become dragons. So maybe he becomes the nine headed dragon god.

Prometheus

Movement and paralysis are also the roots of the fastest acting and most potent poisons(neurotoxins that disrupt neurotransmitters). Snakes(cobras specifically) are famous for having some of the most potent neurotoxins in nature.

Murong Bang reminds me less of a teacher than a cat. He’s like a cat pushing a glass off the counter to see what would happen. I think he’s curious to see what Jin will choose when put in certain situations. Are his foundations, will and sense of self strong enough to triumph over adversity and difficult choices or will he bend and compromise who he is? How much like his father is he really? Does he have his fathers rage and is it under control or does it rule him. I don’t get the feeling Bang is actively trying to teach Jin anything, more testing. A cat playing with a mouse. I wondered if when sending Jin to the brotherhood to sort out the situation it wasn’t because he knew he had family there but because of Bangs Dao. His Dao must have an element of destruction or something similar in it. So I thought that it maybe lets him know where to hit to have the biggest l impact on a person or situation which is why he sent Jin where he did. He might not know why but he knows that sending Jin there would have a huge (potentially destructive) impact on him and his future depending on the choices he makes.

Another cliffhanger 😤

Even if it were a trap, what is MB trying to accomplish? He either already knows or is almost certain Liu Jin is his former master's son. If he wanted to expose him all he would need to do is say who his father is in public - people would believe him because MB is not one that much cares for subterfuge and intrigue. Is he perhaps trying to see determine if Liu Jin is strong enough? Is he trying to teach him a lesson about the perils of morality the only way he can?

Silverias

I was thinking the exact same thing. Bang doesn't want to test LJ's will, or give him an impossible goal. He wants his heritage on display, and he wants it to happen at his direction.

I’ve been suspecting that there is no progression from gold to purple lightening. That is to say, if someone of royal blood were to hit gold lightening, they manifest it as purple instead. So this the trap: the only way to not kill everyone is to cause Jin to expose himself as a prince, and very likely the son of the black storm dragon, with all the trouble that causes.

Have to wonder how Murong Bang is gonna drop the other shoe. Our boi is going to hit the requisite level of lightning of course. But I am sure that the General will find a way to make him suffer regardless.

Moonkiller24

Lovely as always

Gavriel

Grandpa realized immediately 🤣

Derek Walker

There may just be no connection, but if there is, usually in stories like this lightening is often the element associated with purification (other then water). So then it would be two sides of the same coin. The ultimate poison, and the ultimate purification element. We haven’t seen him use lightening like that yet, but maybe it’s not a high enough level

AZ

Amazing chapter. My concern is, what's the synergy between the two paths that Liu Jin uses? The snake/poison and the dragon lightning? How do they work together, how will they influence or be influenced by his dao?

Pete

I wonder when the first cultivator trying this decided his lightning skills were good enough to just let real lightning hit

Hunter8k

I love irony here. So much irony

Catherine

Awesome, thanks 😊
