Guy

Actually if I remember correctly the retired leader of the Divine Frozen Palace said something about Jiang's face being hidden, so maybe there's something there...

So, question - what does a more powerful version of lightning entail in real terms? Is someone with purple lighting able to pump more watts into someone compared to a cultivator that has "merely" access to golden lightning?

burning_the_paper

I imagine if he ever decides to learn how to use it, it's going to be when he reaches the Earth realm and his mobility gets impacted. Though, admittedly, Liu Jin has his pet eagle and Mai's flying carpet to move around if he needs to go somewhere quickly.

JoBo12

I do wonder if Liu Jin will learn the Thousand Steps of the Thunder God with his ever increasing Lightning proficiency. He mentioned multiple times how the speed of the technique is exceptional and Lei Kong would certainly not refuse to teach it to Liu Jin.

Lightseid

He can't for now. He's not at the level to.

Gavriel

Liu Jin; Not using his purple lightning

burning_the_paper

I love how Liu Jin utilizes all the tropes and cliches of shonen/xianxia fights to his advantage. While a more hotheaded protagonist might have been trading barbs with his opponent or making heartfelt pleas to make him see reason, Liu Jin is instead using words to keep his enemy off-balance emotionally, to distract him and to make him angry enough to start making mistakes. Also, the way he applies a "scientific" approach of submitting theories and testing them to pick apart techniques and fighting styles is pretty scary.

I suspect it is similar to the soul. In the spirit realm you can feel your soul and gain an awareness for it but unless you are very talented you will only be able to manipulate/split your soul once you reach the true or even earth realm. The earliest we have seen somebody interact with the soul was when Liu Jin's soul was misaligned in the nascent realm. In the same style Yun Han seems to not be aware of his Dao. As shown in the interlude it is likely that the tournament loss combined with the invasion simply caused so much trauma for Yun Han that it affected/awoke his Dao. I would guess that most talented cultivators start to get a feel for their Dao in the earth realm and are capable of using it effectively once they reach the heaven realm, similar to Xiao Nan. I would not be surprised if Liu Jin starts to feel his Dao soon. We already see him very much following his own way, for example when he helped the villagers.

Guy

Seeing Han again and seeing how's he's developed so far has been great. He's really coming into his own. And as the people above mentioned the fact that he's managed to manifest part of his Dao in the True Realm is remarkable. And of course hearing Old Jiang again was both great and sad because that means that there are only 7 more memories left. Apart of me hopes that there's some sort of divine realm cultivator shenanigans that can happen so we can have more of Old Jiang, but that seems unlikely (And if it's not handled with care it could go extremely poorly). Thank you for the chapter, and hopefully your recovery is coming along well. Edit: I also agree with the past me sentiment at the end of the AN lol.

When did Xun Huwen challenge an emperor while in the Heaven realm? iirc Xun Huwen was only not taken out because he was related to Elder Xun. Any Emperor could have taken him out. We have only seen Xun Huwen face Lady Ling and Mud as his strongest opponents. Both were in the Heaven realm and Mud would have at least fought him to a draw on his own.

Blahful

It depends. Xun Huwen was strong enough to challenge emperors while being a Heaven realm.

Valerian

Nah, an Emperor outclasses a Renegade too much to allow that. The Eastern Port City Sects would certainly have been able to inflict more losses on Muroung Bang's army, but the difference in numbers and a more powerful leadership would win out in the end.

StarBat

I wonder if the Yun sect could have beaten back the attack if they were forewarned.

Lightseid

I think Jin might have set the progression of Han's Dao back in making flee. That is pretty good damage to deal to an enemy.

Mecanimus

I see the blunt stairs have not dulled the edge of your pen!

Yoav

He probably won't be able to access it to the degree even Han can unless he fixes his soul. Because I don't think he did that.

Thanatos

A good chapter. Pity we didn’t see any of Jin’s own dao, though I guess you’re saving it for a bigger fight

Yoav

I don't think it is very normal to be using even a small measure of one's Dao before the heaven Realm? Given that Xiao Nan has known his general path of his Dao before his ascend to the heaven but only then could he use it. So Han must be very talented to unlock a small part of his Dao and be able to use it at the end of the true realm.
